Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Lamb.
Hi Lauren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a love for all things girly and knew from a young age that I wanted to be part of the beauty industry. Growing up, I watched my mom get beauty services done, and I loved how her face would light up afterward. I saw firsthand how those moments could boost someone’s confidence, and I knew I wanted to create that same feeling for others.
Being in a salon always felt like being in a safe, empowering space for women, and I dreamed of building that environment myself. I love giving my clients a luxury experience where they can express themselves and leave feeling radiant and confident, whether it’s after a glowing facial, full lashes, or perfectly shaped brows. Seeing their smiles is the best part of what I do.
As a kid, I was obsessed with makeup, skincare, and everything beauty related. I would beg my mom to let me try new things, watch artists work, or spend hours learning from YouTube tutorials. I wasn’t always the most confident growing up, but once I discovered the beauty space, I finally felt that same confidence I had seen in others. That’s when I knew this was my path.
I earned my associate’s degree in business while still in high school and immediately enrolled in esthetician school, completing my 600-hour program. From there, I began building my brand, “The Glam Room” and it’s been growing ever since. Today, I’m proud to serve hundreds of amazing clients, helping them feel beautiful and confident every day. And this is just the beginning—I can’t wait to see how The Glam Room continues to grow.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been the smoothest road! Entering a female dominated industry that doesn’t follow the typical 9–5 path comes with its own challenges. Many people don’t see beauty as a “real” career and often dismiss it as just a hobby, which was heartbreaking when I was first starting out. Building a business from scratch can feel overwhelming. There’s so much about running a business that no one teaches you. You have to figure it out as you go. There were moments when I felt alone, unsure if I was making the right decisions or heading in the right direction. But every challenge taught me something valuable and made me even more determined to turn my passion into a career.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician and a 3x certified lash extension technician. While I specialize in lash extensions, I also love providing deeply relaxing signature facials, face and arm waxing, lash lifts, brow waxing and shaping, brow laminations, and custom airbrushed spray tans. I’m based in Metro Detroit, Michigan, where I strive every day to be the best esthetician I can be. Over the past year, my clientele has grown tremendously, and it’s still expanding! I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and eventually expanding my business in the coming months. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and so excited to see how my business continues to evolve.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people deserve credit for where I am today. I truly wouldn’t be here without the incredible people in my life. I have an amazing mom, supportive friends, and a wonderful partner. All of them have believed in me and encouraged me every step of the way. My mom especially has been my biggest supporter. She let me transform part of her home into my esthetician room, stayed up late waiting for me to finish long work nights, and has stood by me since day one. Without her, my beauty business wouldn’t exist.
I also owe so much to my loyal clients. They’re the heart of my business, the reason I get to do what I love every day. The fact that they continue to prioritize their beauty services with me, and keeping me in their budgets and schedules, means the world. Many of my clients have been with me for years, and over time, they’ve become like close friends
