Hi Laminkca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, it started off as a side hustle to make some extra cash while in Nursing School. I got started by making glitter lip gloss on my bedroom floor. Yes, glitter Lip Gloss with Arts and Crafts glitter. Haha. I kept seeing the same viral post being shared down my Facebook timeline asking, “Who makes/sells these kinds of Lip Gloss?”.
I shared the post asking, “Who would be purchased if I started making them?” I had a few people chime in, so that same night, I got on YouTube, ordered the supplies and the ingredients, and it was on from there. Hence the “GLITZ” part of my business name, lol. Later that year, I ventured into the Body Care/Self Care Products due to my oldest having mild to moderate eczema. I always found myself searching for products that weren’t full of unknown ingredients and chemicals that wouldn’t irritate his skin. So, he went back to the drawing board and to the lab to develop something that would keep his skin moisturized, especially in the colder weather months.
That’s how the infamous “Whipped Body Soufflés” were born! I noticed how well the product worked and cleared his skin almost instantly in a couple of uses. I then wondered about how many other brown and black people in my area had the same struggles not only on the search to find a product that actually works with natural ingredients but also with similarities in skin conditions.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! I would be telling a whole lie & nothing but a lie if I said it was all glitter and gold. First of all, I would like to start by saying Thank you, God, for blessing me every day with the vision to start and the strength to keep pushing through, ESPECIALLY on days when I’m just not feeling it. Life isn’t all peaches and cream, and it’s the same way in the entrepreneurial world, no matter the business.
Some of the struggles were not really about how to start but more about how to keep going. The fear, the worries, and the lack of confidence, I would say, stopped me from showing up and executing to my full potential. I remember I made a Facebook post when I first started Cashaè GLITZ back in 2019 on “How no one supported my business.”
A few Facebook friends who are local business owners in the area had to kick it to me, and I am forever grateful for their words. As an entrepreneur, you have to look at the bigger picture, not only from a business owner’s perspective but from a customer’s perspective as well.

Cashaè GLITZ is known as a self-care company that specializes in uplifting the confidence in melanin women through its Body Care and Cosmetics. As the Owner and CEO, I like to pride myself on the originality and passion for my brand.
I put in hours and hours of work, blood, sweat, tears, and prayers to create a Body Care line that is unmatched and second to none in the industry. I’ve created a Notorious Body Care Set, also known as a “Self Care Set” which includes 1- 8 oz Sugar Body Polish (known as Sugar Scrub) & 1- 8oz Whipped Body Soufflé (known as Body Butter).
Fun and cozy notes range from sweet and tropical to soft and comforting.
