Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameron Motley. Them and their team share their story with us below:
“Motivated by the fear of being average.” Inspired by the late-great Nipsey Hussle, Kameron Motley, A.K.A “King Kam — Voice Of The Youth” was known by a lot of his peers for always being a positive influence, role model, and motivational speaker in person or throughout social media. Inspired by fellow Michigan artist Big Sean, King Kam was also huge on manifestation— which he would soon manifest his own career as an artist. King Kam’s unescorted drive & sharp flows — which switches every minute, was the fuel to his journey as an artist to motivate the people of Flint, Michigan. King Kam had always had a passion for freestyle rap — once watching a kid in his elementary freestyle from the head for minutes and wondering how he did it without reading, just to start rapping in the cafeteria of his Carman-Ainsworth High School. King Kam began attracting crowds and later began to start writing songs in July of 2019. Since then, King Kam has released catchy and bouncy songs — some recorded smoothly from an iPhone, that fuel his destination to the top.
Since then, King Kam has been featured in the media multiple times for his poetry, community activism, hip-hop music, & more.
In late 2021, King Kam was selected as a Signal Boost talent show finalist, where he received mentorship and feedback from significant artist and producers out of Michigan, including: Mama Sol, Bootleg of The Dayton Family, Helluva313, & more. On December 9th, King Kam competed for $2,500 at one of the most popular venues in his city — The Capital Theater.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me would be bringing the youth’s voice to the table. Often times because of our age, our thoughts and opinions are not counted. My goal is to represent and show that we deserve to be heard and deserve a voice, whether that is in the school, work field, etc.
