Meet Justine Leo of Waterford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justine Leo.

Hi Justine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve known I wanted to be an Interior Designer since I was a teenager. I got my Bachelor’s in Interior Design from Adrian College in 2016, and quickly found a position as a design assistant with a firm in Royal Oak. After five years with them, I decided to pursue my dream of opening my own firm! It has been the most fulfilling and rewarding journey to work for myself, and love helping families make their homes more functional and beautiful.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not always, I’m not the best marketer and it’s been difficult getting my name out there. But the clients I’ve had have left me fantastic reviews and we’ve had a wonderful time working together! I look forward to more clients in the future!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love working with families, specifically! Especially ones with young kids. They’re so often overlooked, and I know it’s easy as a parent to believe that your life and your home will be nothing but chaos until your kids are older, but that doesn’t have to be true. Our environment and our homes shape how we get through our daily lives, and that is just as important in the younger years as it is later. Families with young kids deserve to simplify their lives, too, and I can help them do it in a beautiful way!

Any big plans?
I’m currently going through a process change – so things behind the scenes will be more streamlined, more prepared, and better structured, allowing projects to move quickly and smoothly. I used to solve problems as they came up, but this way we are solving problems before they arise and having answers ready to go!
