Meet Jonathan Holloway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Holloway.  

Hi Jonathan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Grew up in a contractors household (father owns a contracting company city contract for Oakland and Wayne County) so always had a passion for, construction, architecture, and real estate, became knowledgeable in the industry because of that. The other side of me was in the entertainment (dream career at the time) industry, where I started acting and modeling in middle and high school. Nickname was ‘Hollywood” (ended up moving there) in high school because of commercial and modeling gigs. Very athletic played football, baseball, and basketball all 4 years. Ended up going to Miami of Ohio majored in Architecture and then transferred Lawrence tech for a year where I got bit by the modeling/acting bug again. Got an offer to be a spokesperson for a top OEM brand and travel the country, speaking at national auto shows. That gave me the ability to move from Michigan to Los Angeles. Live there for 11 years. Traveling, commercials, soaps, etc. While doing all that, I was able to get my real estate license and would practice when home and not on the road entertaining. Had a beautiful son in California with my wife at the time. He is 13 now and the love of my life. Moved back to Michigan in 2013, got my real estate license, and worked in the family construction business. Then started doing entertainment thing again on the side, in arena host for the Pistons, news entertainment, and automotive host, and also hit a reality show at one point lol. Something always drew me back to real state, and when the market started to slow down, I jumped right in. I enjoy helping customers buy or sell their homes, and I thing it is extremely important to connect with them. I was just named one of the top individual realtors at my brokerage for Feb 2023. Good company Realty in royal oak. I also love working with investors as well. Helping them build the financial future they want. I am extremely knowledgeable in the industry and ready to help you find the home of your dreams or sell and find your next. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it’s never been a smooth road you have to grind all the way. Everything from family events, job/contract loss and other variables that life throws at you. I believe a positive attitude goes a long way; I know it’s easier said that done. but you have to look at the bright side of things. If you don’t it will bring you down, and you will get stuck. Having a strong support system is key. One big struggle I have had to overcome is not being looked at as that guy was on tv or hosting pistons games to someone who is knowledgeable in the real estate and construction industry, which I am very well versed. Being named one of he top realtors in Feb 2023 at my brokerage after only being at that one for two months shows my determination, drive, and experience in the industry. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have been know as an entertainment professional but now 100% focused on helping clients in real estate/investing. Building a notable brand that can help build up clients and the industry. 

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In real estate, there are always always ups and downs just like in the entertainment industry, and you have to ride it out keep grinding, and don’t give up. Successful people always have a plan and execute, and that is what I am doing. I plan to be one of the top realtors in the metro Detroit area. Big goal but very attainable. Especially if you have a great team behind you and the drive, I have to grow and help clients.
