Meet Jessica Dubey of Bee Wealth Solutions PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Dubey.

Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have worked in the mental health field as a social worker since 2018, beginning my career as a Case Manager at two community mental health agencies. In this role, I supported clients in accessing essential resources such as food assistance, Section 8 housing, and transportation. Through this work, I consistently observed the significant financial challenges many clients faced, often rooted in limited financial literacy. With already constrained resources, the importance of developing healthy money habits became increasingly clear.

This realization sparked my interest in financial wellness. I began informally integrating financial support into my work—helping clients create basic budgets, identify affordable options, and connect with free or low-cost community resources. Over time, I recognized a desire to deepen my impact beyond case management. This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work and transition into a career as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist.

After becoming licensed, I began practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), supporting clients in building awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they could make more intentional, values-driven decisions. In this role, I identified another critical gap: the intersection of mental health and financial well-being. I observed patterns such as clients tying self-worth to material possessions, using spending as a coping mechanism, engaging in people-pleasing through financial overextension, avoiding financial responsibilities due to anxiety, and carrying forward money beliefs shaped by their family of origin.

Motivated to address this gap, I began incorporating financial exploration into my clinical work. Using therapeutic techniques, I helped clients examine their beliefs, emotions, and behaviors related to money, as well as the influence of early life experiences on their financial perspectives. As insight developed, I supported clients in establishing healthier boundaries, habits, and financial behaviors aligned with their overall well-being. I also began integrating financial assessment tools into the intake process to better identify client needs.

Over time, this integrative approach became a consistent and meaningful part of my practice. Recognizing the growing need for this work, I made the decision to formally specialize in financial therapy, with the goal of bridging the gap between emotional and financial health and creating more sustainable, holistic outcomes for my clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been both rewarding and challenging. One of the primary difficulties has been building this work from the ground up. Because financial therapy is still an emerging and relatively underdeveloped area, there have been limited models or established leaders to draw from in the way I would have preferred. As a result, much of this process has required creativity, trial and error, and a willingness to navigate uncertainty.

At times, this has felt isolating. However, it has also been a powerful motivator. The absence of a clear roadmap has pushed me to think more intentionally and innovate in ways I may not have otherwise. While it has not always been a smooth road, these challenges have ultimately strengthened my commitment to developing this modality and meeting a need that is not yet widely addressed in the field.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bee Wealth Solutions PLLC?
I am the owner of a private therapy practice, launched in January 2026, with a primary focus on supporting individuals experiencing financial challenges that are contributing to significant mental health distress. My work is centered on bridging the gap between emotional well-being and financial health by developing financial therapy as a core, integrated form of treatment.

What sets my practice apart is this specialized focus. While many clinicians may touch on financial stress, my work intentionally integrates therapeutic techniques with financial insight to address the root causes of money-related behaviors, beliefs, and patterns. As this is still an emerging area within the field, much of what I am building is innovative—designed to meet a need that has historically been overlooked in traditional mental health care. My long-term vision is to help shape financial therapy into a recognized and widely utilized modality that can create lasting impact for future generations and shift how the mental health field approaches financial well-being.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of creating something both meaningful and forward-thinking. This work is not about rigid budgeting or quick fixes—it is about sustainable, long-term change. It is grounded in the belief that financial health and mental health are deeply interconnected, and that addressing them together leads to more effective and lasting outcomes.

What I want readers to know is that this work goes far beyond numbers. Through therapy, financial assessments, and supportive tools, my goal is to help individuals feel more empowered, informed, and aligned with their values when it comes to money. Ultimately, it is about helping people build a healthier, more intentional relationship with their finances—one that supports their overall well-being and the life they want to create.about creating a healthier relationship with finances—one that creates wealth both mentally and financially.
