Meet Jennifer Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Mitchell.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
I started selling hand-sewn clothing and macrame necklaces while I followed the grateful dead. I picked up vending again almost 10 years later and have been vending in one way or another since 2000. 

What I sell had evolved from beaded jewelry and book bags to handmade hula hoops and upcycled t-shirt skirts, to curated vintage clothing l, upcycled clothing and accessories, handmade hula hoops, and other handmade flow toys. As well as led glow toys and fidget flow toys. I call my booth a geode. It has all the things you didn’t know you needed. 

I am now a full-time music festival vendor, filling in weekends with vintage markets and flow festivals. 

In 2017-2021, I owned and ran my own coffee shop and bakery with zero experience, and now I’m a full-time vendor. 

I have 3 adult children, single and fiercely independent while traveling, worth my vintage camper, a 1968 25′ Avion. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggles along the way have been divorce, time, pandemic, and sometimes overdoing myself because I want to do it all. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I curate clothing and sew upcycled creations. I’m known for having creative designs that are extra and stage-worthy. I’ve had many musicians and flow artists buy clothes from me that they were on stage to perform. What sets me apart is that my booth is fun and safe. People can be themselves or discover themselves in a safe space. Dantes Cave where it’s an alternate universe of discovery at times. Energy brings people in to connect with clothing that is meaningful, touches them emotionally, or makes them feel amazing. Sometimes magical 

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My characteristics that make me successful is the visions I have and put out into the universe as what will happen. My intentions and goals. I say, dream it and push forward thru fear to make it happen. I’m also stubbornly independent and take some kind of challenge to move forward with new opportunities and challenges
