Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I started in 2016, I was doing $9 brow waxes inside a Walmart salon. I knew I had the talent, but I was battling fear, doubt, and survival mode. There were weeks when business was painfully slow, and I questioned if I’d made a mistake choosing this path. Money was tight, and I didn’t have a blueprint—just faith and the belief that my hands held purpose.
Taking the leap to go independent was terrifying. I bet on myself with no backup plan, no guarantee. But every time I wanted to give up, I thought about the women I was meant to serve, and I kept going. I studied, refined my technique, prayed through the pressure, and created an experience that felt like healing through beauty. That’s what carried me from strip mall salons to a thriving suite in downtown Detroit. The struggle built the standard I live by now: if you don’t see the lane, create it.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a creative soul with a deep sensitivity to beauty and emotion. I loved anything artistic—drawing, doing hair, organizing “salons” in the living room. I was observant, soft-spoken at times, but strong-willed and deeply intuitive. Even as a little girl, I paid attention to how people felt. I wanted to make others feel good about themselves, whether through a compliment, a makeover, or just being present.
I didn’t always have the most confidence, but I had a big imagination and a heart that believed I was meant to do something meaningful with my hands. That spirit never left me—it just evolved into the work I do now.
