Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregoria Garcia

Gregoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was in the medical field for over 20 years, loved everything about it! But, unfortunately it came to an end when I had a total right ankle replacement and couldn’t perform my duties any longer. Needless to say I was going crazy!! Then one day I was making cookies for my granddaughters classmates, and a lightbulb went off.

Another passion of mine is baking and our four legged friends. So I put 2 and 2 together. I started researching everything I needed to bake and sell my delicious all natural dog treats.

After a lot of work I was licensed thru MDARD, Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development in 2019 and Pups Barkery which makes handmade allnatural dog treats was born and with its first sale in June 2020 at the Hudsonville Farmers Market.

Since then, with a lot of hard work, the support of my husband Luis, my family and my community Pups Barkery has been in business and going strong. You can find Pups Barkery at farmers markets, pet expos, shows, flea markets, craft shows, fundraisers. You can also find us on facebook and instagram.

We love to give back to our community by raising money thru fundraising for local dog food banks, dog humane societies and work with The Bissell Pet Foundation.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing. It was hard getting started. No one knows your name your business and sales not being what you like. Which is all understandable when introduced to something new. But I just kept at it and always looked forward. Today Pups Barkery is thriving and very busy keeping up with product demand. Which is an awesome feeling.

Our treats are hand crafted, freshly baked, with all-natural ingredients. Human grade food. Free of chemicals, preservatives and dyes. No additives, sugar or salt just all natural goodness.

Our ingredients are locally sourced from farmers that provide us with everything from meats, vegetables, fruits, eggs, flours and honey.

We offer a variety of flavors, designs and made to order cookies and cakes for any holiday, birthdays and occasion that requires a delicious treat for your four legged friends.

Our signature flavor is our delicious mouth watering cheddar bacon treat.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t say luck. I would say “A Blessing”. God is good, I thank him every day for his blessings. He gives me the strength, energy, patience and ability to move forward every day.
