She will have her Clinical MSW from University of Kentucky in May 2022. Recently Franki published her first book, “I Love My Kids But I Don’t Always Like Them,” with MSI Press. This is a no-nonsense guide to parenting your 5-14-year-olds illustrated through examples from her career and parenting life!

She lives with her husband, Jeff, and three children in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The last few years have been bumpy! In September of 2019, I was unexpectedly laid off. In October of 2019, I decided to launch FAAB Consulting. In February of 2020, I had a pretty full schedule and FAAB was successful. In March of 2021, the pandemic hit Michigan and I was forced to cancel two months packed full of programming. My business is starting to make a comeback!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
FAAB Consulting is a service provided by Franki Bagdade—an expert in the world of children with extra needs—consulting services range from customized family “Behavioral Coaching,” to educator and camp workshops, team consulting, and public speaking. With over 20 years of experience, Franki can provide non-traditional consulting to help families, children and educators meet their full potential.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was a very shy and quiet kid, seriously!! Though none of my friends believe me now. I grew up with 3 then 4 brothers and was very close with my father who passed away shortly after I got married. He was a professional storyteller as his “side gig” and always dreamt of publishing a book. I have dedicated my book to him. I grew up in the same metro area as I live now and have been here ever since, except for a brief ten months where I explore an acting major at a small liberal arts school in Chicago.
