Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Meadows.
Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started cleaning professionally in 2018, never really knowing where it would take me. What started as something I did on the side slowly grew into something I genuinely loved. I realized that I wasn’t just cleaning homes I was helping people feel less overwhelmed, giving them back time with their families, and creating spaces they could feel proud of.
For years, I balanced cleaning with working a full-time job and raising my family. In 2025, I finally took the biggest leap and left my full-time job to pursue my cleaning business full-time. That same year, I became licensed and insured and officially started building Elevated Cleaning Services LLC into the company I had always envisioned.
Since then, the business has grown far beyond what I imagined. I’ve expanded into residential, commercial, move-in/move-out, apartment turns, property management and post-construction cleaning. I’ve built a team of cleaners, developed systems and policies, worked with property managers and businesses, and continued growing my brand through social media.
What I’m most proud of, though, is that I built this from the ground up. There were plenty of moments where I questioned myself, but I kept showing up, learning, adapting, and pushing forward. Today, Elevated Cleaning Services is not just a cleaning company to me. It represents years of hard work, taking a chance on myself, and proving that something that started small can become something much bigger.
I’m excited about where the company is going next and continuing to grow it while still keeping the personal touch and high standards that got me here in the first place.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow a business while also balancing being a wife, a mom, and everything that comes with everyday life. There have been times when I’ve been completely overwhelmed and wondered if I was doing enough or making the right decisions.
As the business grew, I also had to learn that being a business owner means dealing with things that have nothing to do with cleaning hiring and managing cleaners, scheduling, cancellations, difficult clients, payments, unexpected problems, and learning how to protect my business while still treating people fairly.
Another big challenge was making the decision to leave my full-time job and rely on my business. That was scary because there was no guaranteed paycheck anymore. I had to trust myself and believe that I could actually make this work.
I’ve made mistakes along the way, and I’ve definitely had days where I wanted to throw my hands up. But every challenge has taught me something. I’ve learned to set boundaries, communicate better, value my time, trust my instincts, and not be afraid to make changes when something isn’t working.
Looking back, I honestly think the struggles have been just as important as the successes. They’ve helped me become a stronger business owner and have pushed me to build a company that I’m truly proud of.

Elevated Cleaning Services LLC is a licensed and insured cleaning company serving Metro Detroit, specializing in residential and commercial cleaning. We provide everything from recurring maintenance cleans and deep cleans to move-in/move-out cleanings, apartment turns, property management cleanings, and post-construction cleaning.
What sets us apart is that we truly care about the experience we provide, not just the cleaning itself. I’ve always believed that hiring a cleaning company should take something off a client’s plate, not create more stress. We focus on communication, reliability, professionalism, attention to detail, and treating every home and client with respect.
As the owner, I’m especially proud of how much Elevated Cleaning Services has grown. What started as me cleaning homes has grown into a team and a business that serves both residential and commercial clients. I’ve worked hard to create systems, standards, policies, and a client experience that reflects the quality of work I want my company known for.
I also think what makes our brand special is that there is a real person behind it. I’m very involved in my business, my clients know who I am, and I genuinely care about the relationships we build. We aren’t just another cleaning company we’re a local business that takes pride in the work we do and in the reputation we’re building within our community.
More than anything, I want people to know that Elevated Cleaning Services was built from the ground up with a lot of hard work, heart, and determination. I’m incredibly proud of where we are today, but I’m even more excited about where we’re going.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say persistence and determination have been the most important qualities behind my success. I’ve learned that being a business owner isn’t about never having problems it’s about being willing to keep going when you do.
There have been plenty of times when things didn’t go as planned, whether it was a difficult client situation, staffing issues, slow periods, or simply trying to figure out something I had never done before. I didn’t always have someone to tell me what the right answer was, so I had to learn as I went.
I’m not afraid to make mistakes, learn from them, and try again. I think that mindset has made a huge difference in how far I’ve been able to take Elevated Cleaning Services.
I truly believe that talent can get you started, but consistency, resilience, and refusing to give up are what keep you moving forward.
