Today we’d like to introduce you to Emilie Eve Campbell.
Hi Emilie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
It’s humbling for me to reminisce on my journey. Thinking about all of the trials and tribulations I have endured to get to where I am today. To summarize, the odds were always against me, but failure was never an option. I didn’t have the best childhood. At fifteen years old, with the help of a school counselor, I was able to file for emancipation and became a legal adult. I worked two full-time jobs while finishing high school. At fifteen years old, I had an apartment, I had to learn how to survive on my own. I became a teen mother at seventeen and still managed to graduate high school with full honors. I was the first person in my family to graduate high school. I strived to break the mold. I always knew I wanted to go into nursing, but also had a passion for artistry and aesthetics. I became a certified nursing assistant for years this helped pay the bills while pursuing a cosmetology license. From there, I became driven to get my bachelor’s degree in nursing. It was an upward battle being a single mom of two young children. A single mom with dreams and ambitions. Every challenge made me fight harder, and I did it! In 2018, I became the first individual in my family to go to college and the first to earn a degree. I did it. This was monumental for me and my children. I proved that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. Before graduation, I accepted a Registered Nurse Position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and I excelled. I honestly thought this is where my story would end but, God had other plans for me.
I have a natural desire to continue to grow, to elevate to a next level. I realized that I can now help people by using my nursing degree as well as being able to delve into my artistic skillset. I can do this with Aesthetic Nursing and Permanent Makeup. I started researching and investing in more specialized education. I started offering some smaller services like lash extensions out of my home office for close friends and coworkers. I wasn’t prepared for how quickly this would grow. Within 6 months, I signed a lease for a suite. I had to fight for the ability to open in this space as permanent makeup is considered body art, and the city was very strict. After navigating all of the licensing permits and health department requirements, I was granted permission to open my very own Licensed Body Art Facility. I was the first to be granted this within the suites. By this time, I could see so much potential for growth within my business. So many avenues to help others feel better inside and out. Every day I would continue contemplating the business all while still working as a staff nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit. I started with lash extensions and ombré powder brows; I added lip blushing a couple of months later. I then added neuromodulators (botox), filler injections, platelet rich plasma hair restoration. Every day a new thought, every day a new service. I now offer all of that and other wellness options like vitamin injections, IV hydration therapy, microneedling, and most important education.
My business is Elevate by Emilie Eve. Elevate – such a simple word with such a profound meaning. I was inspired by my favorite place to visit, Arizonia. In 2021 My husband and I were driving down a long, winding road, and I glanced out into the horizon and the mountains were so beautiful. A sense of peace came over, and I said, “That’s It! Elevate. I want to help Elevate others in their lives.” My purpose is to help others elevate their health, well-being, self-esteem, and their skillset.
I have been blessed beyond measure. I endured and pushed through. In 2015 I met my amazing husband, who has been so supportive with my vision. Elevate by Emilie Eve continues to flourish, and after only one year in the suite, I am opening my own building in Livonia, Michigan.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road to get to where I am today. I have faced little support as an adolescent, handling adult bills while fulfilling childhood obligations of schooling. I became a teen mom and had to navigate my way to support myself and my child while still finishing school. I worked 2-3 jobs at a time to do so and also had to maintain time management to ensure that the coursework was completed. After all of this, still caring for my children’s needs and their education as well. Once I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing, I had to figure out how to balance my drive to operate my own business while working full-time to fund it. Funding… that is a struggle. All businesses cost money to operate. Aesthetic nursing is expensive! I work about 70 hours a week to this day to be able to operate financially. About 8-9 hours a day for services and another 4-6 for marketing and ad creation.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elevate By Emilie Eve?

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
In the heart of the crisis, I was working full-time in the Pediatric ICU. During this time is what really inspired me to start thinking outside the box of bedside nursing. It opened my eyes to the possibility of helping others in a less stressful environment than the intensive care unit.
