Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Nyreia Harrington Wright.
Hi Dr. Wright, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
One of my favorite sayings is, “The road of life is not a straight line; it’s full of twists and turns.” I would say this statement best fits my story of BECOMING in fullness as Dr. Nyreia Harrington Wright. My story is a story of becoming fully aware of my sense of self, healing from past difficulties, evolving from one station in life to the next, and finally living renewed from the inside out. I am married to Mr. Stanley Wright, our marriage can be described as unexpected friendship, full of fun and laughter for years that ultimately catapulted us into marriage and family. I have 3 Adult daughters (Jazmyne, Jhane’, Jaylynn), 3 beautiful grandchildren, and a son-in-love, Denzel Drone, whom I affectionally call my ‘Son.’ I currently own and operate Time of Glory Counseling Services, PLC., Pop Up Talk Therapy Services, and Becoming H.E.R. (HEALED.EVOLVED.RENEWED) a non-profit ministry for women. None of this could have happened if I had not taken the journey of Faith as a Believer in Jesus Christ.
I grew up on the east side of Detroit during a time where life seemed simple, yet it was far from it. As I look back on my young life, I realized that there was a lot of focus on achieving academics and not as much about developing a true identity. I think I learned early on that it was about what I accomplished and less about who I would become. You see, growing up during a time (’70s-’80s) where surviving was the daily focus and not thriving, I lived underdeveloped as it relates to my identity until my late 20’s years. I can see why my life seemed to spiral; I had not taken the brave journey of Becoming authentically me.
I started and stopped my educational journey through much of my twenties due to surviving what life was throwing at me. It wasn’t until I was confronted at a conscious level that surviving was a cycle of pain and mistrust and would only bring me into repetitive poverty, both financially and spiritually. It was one conscious moment of desiring to live fully that brought me into this open mental space of believing and dreaming for more. The little girl that was confused, trapped in people pleasing, and a lack of confidence was next in line for a life-transforming journey to knowing God, self, and others in ways that helped create more inner space for soul renewal, mind expansion, and FREEDOM!
I became an Ordained Minister in the midst of this BECOMING season in my life. I would say living a life of service is the best blessing in my life, and it continues to give me life. I have been a member of New Beginnings Community Church for almost 24 years, where I serve as well to help others in their spiritual journey and growth.
The rest is easy, not really, but easy to describe (lol). It was one epiphany after the other. I finished that undergrad degree in (BSIT), which started initially as a degree in Psychology. It was that IT degree that helped me obtain full-time employment that was stable and rewarding. Next, after more epiphanies regarding my life purpose and direction, I returned to school to complete a Masters of Counseling degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, next returning the same year to start a Doctorate degree program in Formational Counseling. It was a whirlwind of processes, constant rebuilding of my mind’s construct, healing from broken relationships, and a love affair with the Almighty God.
Time of Glory Counseling Services, Pop Up Talk Therapy Services, and Becoming HER ministries are the babies birthed through my very prophetic and liberating journey of living as Dr. Nyreia Harrington Wright.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say I had to overcome a lot of learning challenges along the way. I was raised to be an employee (only), so becoming an entrepreneur was all new territory to me. I had to learn how to raise my expectations, create healthy emotional boundaries, and honor my mind, body, and soul to grow past the limitations that I had always known.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I have many projects that I am working on as I continue to BECOME the truest version of me to the Glory of God!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I have learned to live in the present moment. I have learned the value of not being too far ahead and definitely not living too far in the past. Life is invitational; our opportunity is to learn each day, each year, what that invitation is. When we live, eyes wide open, we have the blessed ability to respond to life’s invitation and move in sync with our life’s harmony and balance. Each day is sacred; sometimes, we have to search for the meaning to discover the hidden treasures that life brings.
