Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jasmine Stephens.
Hi Dr. Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, I spent a lot of my life hiding—hiding behind other people because I didn’t truly know my value. I often believed my worth was tied to what I could do rather than who I was.
As I grew, God began to reveal my identity in a deeper way. He didn’t just show me my value through my gifts or accomplishments; He healed parts of me that I didn’t even realize needed healing. Through that process, I discovered that true confidence comes from knowing who you are, not just what you do.
That journey transformed my life and gave me a clear purpose: to become a change agent who helps others experience healing, wholeness, and freedom for themselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been an easy road. There were seasons when I wrestled with anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, and the constant need to perform to earn approval from others. But one of the greatest gifts of life is that, as long as you have breath in your body, healing is still possible. You have the opportunity to heal the version of yourself that you created just to survive.
Over time, I learned that I didn’t have to keep performing. I didn’t have to prove my worth or earn my place. Instead, I could begin living the life God intended for me all along—a life rooted in identity rather than performance, freedom rather than fear, and peace rather than pressure. I learned how to Let go and Enjoy.
As you know, we’re big fans of I.M.A.G.E. Counseling Services LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m passionate about helping people become whole. Whether through therapy, music, speaking, or women’s community, my mission is to help people stop surviving and start living the life God intended for them. I believe healing happens when we’re willing to do the work and embrace every part of who we are.
I’m a licensed mental health professional and owner of I.M.A.G.E. Counseling Services, where I help individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I’m also the founder of The Whole Woman, creator of Night of Inspiration (a night centered around music therapy), a worship leader, and author of the journal workbook I Done Messed Around and Got My Life Back. I’m known for creating spaces where people feel safe enough to heal.
My work is rooted in both professional expertise and personal experience. I don’t just teach people how to cope—I help them understand the deeper patterns behind their struggles so they can experience healing that they are not afraid of.
I’m most proud that every part of my brand reflects the same mission: helping people become whole. Whether someone meets me in therapy, at an event, through worship, or in my community, they’ll experience the same heart for healing and hope.
Everything I offer is designed to help people heal, grow, and live with purpose. Whether through counseling, The Whole Woman, speaking, worship, or my writing, my goal is to remind people that they don’t have to stay the version of themselves they created just to survive.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who have poured into my life and believed in me along the way.
First and foremost, God is the center of everything I do. My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life, and I believe He died so that we could experience freedom, healing, and wholeness. Everything I do flows from that truth.
I’m incredibly grateful for my family and friends, who have supported and encouraged me through every season. I’m especially thankful for my mentor, Nneka Owens, who took a chance on me as a graduate student and helped open doors that shaped my career. Her guidance and belief in me made a lasting impact.
There are so many others who have contributed to my journey that I couldn’t possibly name them all. To each person who has encouraged me, prayed for me, challenged me, or supported me—thank you.
And finally, to my clients: thank you for trusting me with your stories. It is truly an honor to walk alongside you in your healing journey, and I never take that privilege for granted.
