Meet Dos Bold Latinas of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dos Bold Latinas.

Hi Dos Bold Latinas , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Listening to a podcast based in the Dominican Republic inspired us to create our own podcast in our local community Grand Rapids, MI along with the power of technology to listen worldwide. We knew there was a need for a Latina-based platform where women felt empowered, heard, be themselves, and connected with other women.

We first launched the podcast by sharing our own experiences, a year later we expanded to share the platform with other Latinas within our community who needed to share their powerful stories. Our topics emphasize women empowerment, taking care of ourselves especially our mental health while being our authentic selves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges we’ve encountered has been building our personal brand on social media. We’ve done a great job consistently showing up on podcast platforms and have found that we’re reaching the right target audience through our episodes. However, maintaining a strong social media presence has been much more challenging. Social media requires consistent content creation and engagement, and because this podcast is a passion project that we manage alongside our full-time careers and family responsibilities, it has been difficult to dedicate the time needed to grow our online presence consistently.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Jatnna Abreu was born and raised in the Dominican Republic before moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 14. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Development from Western Michigan University.

Professionally, Jatnna works as a Meetings & Events Supervisor, where she enjoys creating meaningful experiences and bringing people together through strategic event planning. When she’s not planning events or recording podcast episodes, Jatnna enjoys spending quality time with her family, pursuing creative projects, and encouraging women to embrace their unique journeys with confidence and purpose. She is passionate about building community, celebrating her Latina heritage, and inspiring others to pursue their goals while staying true to themselves.

Rosibel Madera Vialet, was born in Manhattan, New York, and moved to Grand Rapids, MI when was 7 years old. Went to Davenport University in Grand Rapids to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration concentration in Marketing. Studied Abroad in China for 3 weeks as my capstone for my MBA. I grew up in a family specialty grocery store since the age of eight which has molded who I am today.

Entrepreneurial at heart, I help lead the day-to-day operations of our family businesses — from a specialty grocery store and rental properties to logistics and a banana farm. I’m also a co-host of Dos Bold Latinas, where we celebrate bold conversations, culture, growth, and the journey behind building a meaningful life and business.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
