Meet Daisy Chain of Toledo Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Chain

Hi Daisy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
January 1st 2023 was just a standard new year for most people, with new years resolutions that wouldn’t last, or hangovers from parties the night before, but for Wyatt (Guitar, Vocals), Jackson(Drums, Vocals), and brothers Max(Bass, Vocals) and Dylan (Guitar). It was a monumental day because the four members met up for breakfast at a local diner and put together a group that would grow into Daisy Chain. Both parties were just coming out of bands that have fallen apart, Wyatt and Jackson were in a group called No Diving, for Max and Dylan it was a group called Lansdowne. They played with each other many times in the past, weather for jam sessions or gigs they needed each other for. They were the most dedicated members of each group but did not know the band would become what it did today.
Through many lineup changes, positive experiences, and negative the four stuck together and fell in love with the music they wrote. Pulling influence from The Beatles, Oasis, The Strokes, and contemporaries like The Wallows, Surf Curse, Maroon 5, and Post Malone. Daisy Chain has influences from all across the musical timeline that gives them a unique sound that the band would classify as a “Power Pop”. They’re recording their 1st album and single releases with legendary Toledo musician Mark Mikel who is helping bring the sound they imagined and influencing the record with his amazing musical ideas. Daisy Chain never grows tired of writing a new song about experiences they’ve gone though or changes they wish to see in the world. From love, peace, and to personal growth Daisy Chain will never run out of new themes and topics to write about.
From being the youngest band to play on the Centennial terrace stage, being the highest grossing local band to play Howards Club, playing Bitter Jester music festival as a competitive act, other battle of the bands they’ve won, and interviews from press The members of Daisy Chain all love to see people coming out and respecting music that means so much to them. They believe that the music is a part of them so it brings great joy when people say the music they wrote and the lyrics mean something grand to others.
In November they will be releasing their first single “Mind Over Matter”. It was the first song that Jackson Quillen brought to the band and was instantly a keeper. Jackson says “Mind Over Matter is a song that has a meaning of coming of age or acceptance about what kind of situation you’re in and what conflicts you’re going to be facing in the moment, how you cant change people’s points of view.” It was one of the first songs he remembered writing that he was proud of, and still holds it very close to himself. Max Says “It was a very simple song that just works, most of the best songs are, a perfect harmony of simple but complex.” Wyatt has many great parts with a hypnotizing guitar riff and a solo that will blow you away. When asked about how he feels when he hears the song Wyatt says “its badass”. Dylan adds a wall of sound to the song with his beefy guitar parts. He says “the song gives me a go with your gut kinda vibe, that you should do what feels right for you in the moment”. All of the members love the song and cant wait to release it to the world to start their musical journey.
Max Brown is from Toledo Ohio; He Sings and plays Bass in the band. His favorite part of being a member of Daisy Chain is seeing the songs come to life, He says “there are tons of pros to being in a band, but there is nothing better than bringing a song to your best friends and them completely understanding the meaning and where its coming from… they just know exactly what to add, it’s almost magic.” Max’s songs take on a youthful sound and brings on a message of personal growth or becoming the best version of yourself, a goal of his is for people to think while listening to a simple pop song “Were living in a crazy world and I think if people have a song on their playlist about peace and or love it might just be what they need”.
Jackson is from Toledo Ohio; He Sings and plays Drums in the band. He says, “Daisy Chain is the ultimate form of creative expression” Jackson loves that the band environment is more of a family “It’s a family, and I see my bandmates as nothing less.” He couldn’t see himself doing anything else “It’s an outlet for all of my and our ideas… I truly love what I do and the music we create together.” Jacksons songs take on a more literal/personal level of writing, you can almost put yourself in his exact position when he was writing them. He always has a fresh idea for a song and a groovy drumbeat that captivates the listener.
Wyatt is from Toledo Ohio; He Sings and plays Guitar in the band. He loves the creative aspect of Daisy Chain. Wyatt says “there’s a certain feeling you get when the amps are behind you, the bass shaking the floor, while the drums are crashing in the background that feels like nothing else” Wyatt brings the craft to the band, he always knows the perfect part(s) to add to a song to make you feel the emotion and the perfect harmony part. Max and Jackson have said Wyatt is the soul of Daisy Chain, this band would not have a major piece if Wyatts legendary parts were not on them. Wyatts songs take on a catchy/poppy sense of writing, you’re always waiting for his amazing guitar riffs to take lead when you go to a show.
Dylan is the Rhythm guitarist of Daisy Chain; he adds a certain sound to the band with his signature white and black Fender Stratocaster. Dylan likes that all 4 of us have our own creative outlets with what we do. “it’s an immense feeling when all 4 of us are all playing and perfecting their parts, it’s like all the pieces are fitting exactly where they’re supposed to.” Dylan writes in the band as well and his songs have a very low rock vibe while also adding a big wall of sound to Daisy Chain that wouldn’t be achieved without him.
All in all, Daisy Chain is a band that cares about their songs, their craft, believes their message holds up, and is what the youth and is what this world needs. Songs that are personal, stick in your head and are addicting.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
the music industry can be competitive which is where struggles arise, from rumors people spread about your band or people cheating you out. its just a part of life you almost have to get used to, especially in this industry. were lucky it doesnt happen all the time but when they do we make sure to stay strong and together

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
we are a power pop band from Toledo Ohio. we write, record, and play live. I would say we have many specialities but we care most about writing amazing songs that catch your ear and draw you in, with energetic live performances that leave you in awe and wanting to come back for more

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
we tend not to look that far in the future and take our musical journey one step at a time, but thinking about it we see ourselves still playing and writing music weather that’s in major arenas to small venues, we believe our music holds weight and speaks for itself and will take us as far as it needs to go
