Meet Courtney Gibson of Motivation Over Everything Clothing

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Gibson.

Hi Courtney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got to where I am today by motivation and consistency. As I’ve stated before, losing weight was the goal. I started at 300lbs, I am now 248lbs.

When I put my mind to something, I work hard at it. I won’t stop until I accomplish my goals. Accomplishments start with the decision to try! I became so motivated by my goals that it led me to my business venture. I am the proud owner and CEO of Motivation Over Everything Clothing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In life, with any goal you are trying to reach, you will have struggles. You have to tell yourself to keep pushing! Starting a business and being a college student comes with many struggles; I was challenged; just last year, I thought about giving up on my goals.

It’s hard juggling everything on your own. That’s when my faith came in. I always say this prayer: “God, if it’s meant, give me the strength to keep going. Give me signs that this is my calling!” And he did. He kept me above water, and that’s when I knew not to give up and that God would always guide my steps.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Motivation Over Everything Clothing™️ is an athletic gear company established in 2021. We offer athletic clothing and accessories, such as water bottles, backpacks, tracksuits, etc., and we have accomplished a few goals. But one in particular is having our customers give great reviews on our products and inspiring others to stay motivated.

We were featured on a reality tv show, a few magazines, we are partners with Walmart, TikTok and now Amazon! We have been to a few summits, including the Shop 313 summits hosted by the Detroit Pistons and Amazon.

We have been recognized by different cities and states! Motivating others with our story. I am very thankful that my life lessons have turned into something so powerful. It’s not just a brand. It’s a movement.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As a business owner, I find it’s trial and error. You will take risks. I’ve taken a loss with a marketing company I invested my own money in, and I got screwed. I took that loss as a lesson and kept it moving.

You can’t trust everybody, and everyone doesn’t want to see you win. You have to know who to keep in your circle and what the purpose is, and if it’s shadiness, get them out of your circle. You may fail many times, but when you keep going, you will eventually get where you need to be!
