Hi Carmem, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Brasil and moved to USA 23 years ago . I am American citizen and goth both my green card and nationality trough extraordinary ability . Since that I was a kid I was painting and drawing . I did my first art show when I was 13 and never stop . I use to live in Amazonia for many years and I got my inspiration from nature .. the forest, the birds , the Adobe , the rain . I went to a kayapo tribe that was living in a very remote forest . It was amazing with them I learned about body painting and ceramic . I also helped them spreading to the world about how they was poisoned by the mercury that has been used for big companies to get gold.. I travel to so many places visiting museus and galleries but I never went to art school . I have my degree in psychology and did 4 years of arquitetura . Now I will be celebrating 47 years doing art and teaching people around the world . My 40 years anniversary doing art was in a big gallery in Miami and I have 40 paintings . One king from the Middle East bough 13 paintings and I sold more pieces . It was amazing . Now I leave in Rochester Michigan and also travel to Brasil to do art shows , art workshops and more

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely wasn’t smooth . When I moved to United States I need to start my life and career from zero . I need to work all day to pay the expenses as a Lawer for the green card process and to live as rent food and transportation . I first moved to Los Angeles and had no ideia where to buy supplies how to find a gallery to sell my work , many questions . Remember that we didn’t have social media strong 23 years ago. Then I find a piece of paper advertising a ceramic classes very affordable and near to my house . I thought I am going to do then I get to know people in art and the teacher can tell me about the supplies . To make the story short the teacher ask me why I was doing the classes if she could see that I was a professional . To make short she was part of a big gallery in Palos verdes and I end up doing a lot of art shows there and selling many art there ,. But that time o still need to work 10 hours a day to pay my expenses and supplies

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My painting are inspired by nature and I paint what I see and with my point of view and feelings . I have an entire collections of birds in gold leaf and I sell very well .
