Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda McDermaid.
Hi Brenda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have over 35 years of experience in the beauty industry. Prior to opening the Grande Med Spa in 2010 with my daughter Austin McAuliffee, I formerly owned “Merle Norman Cosmetics” in the Genesee Valley Mall and “Makin’ Faces Permanent Make-up Center” in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I have always had a shared passion with my daughter for all things beauty and cosmetics. This led us to opening up our Medical Spa and taking our passions to the next level. We achieved this by combining state-of-the-art laser technology, my background in cosmetics, and Austin’s keen eye for all things aesthetics. Our journey has now led us to adding injectables, facials, and body contouring treatments, to help every client look and feel their best.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a relatively smooth road for us; we have the best clients and staff members. Our hardest year yet was definitely 202o, as it was for many other businesses. It took some time to recover, but we are stronger than ever and couldn’t be more pleased.
We’ve been impressed with Grande Med Spa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Grande Med Spa has specialized in providing the highest quality procedures of anti-aging facial aesthetics and full body rejuvenation. Our expert team takes pride in helping our clients achieve their ultimate skin health, along with utilizing top-of-the-line lasers. We are proud providers of both Allergan and Galderma for all of your injectable needs. We also carry medical-grade skin care products, as well as Jane Iredale. We value each client relationship; therefore, every journey begins with a consultati0n, followed by an integrated plan to achieve your desired results.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for someone who is starting a business is to focus on a clear and unique value proposition and thoroughly research your market, create a soiled business plan, and be adaptable to changes. Building a strong online presence and networking can also be key to success.
