Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio “True Spazz” Dorsey.
Hi Antonio, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well I’ve always had an ear, and unique taste in music all my life. I listened to several different genres of music growing up, all speaking to me in different forms and fashions. Funny story actually, I started rapping around 2006 when I was 12 years old, when a guy decided it was a good idea to keep picking on the class clown 😆, & in that time and day “True Spazz” was born. However my origin name was “T-Money”, a name given to me, by older folks in the neighborhood. If the term “Did it All” was a person, then I’d fit the description, because I’ve literally done it all. I consider myself an influential artist, with a devoted following, & I’ve had my hands in the music scene for some time now. I’ve put out projects, that still to this day manage to thrill & delight fans, both new & old as well as critics. I’ve been featured on DJBJ’s (Friday Night Cypher) in which I aired on HOT 107.5, radio station. I battled for a spot amongst over 20 other artists, & won a spot on “The Core” where I freestyled every Friday night, with several other legendary artists. I’ve also been apart of (Aztec Nandos) “Forever United” cypher, bringing together multiple artists from different ethnicities on one track, as well as personal projects together as a collab. I shot my 1st music video (Get a Bag) in 2019, in which I won from another competition I had competed, & won in. Shout out to (Domingo Cortez) for blessing me with that opportunity. I’ve done multiple shows, cyphers, & talent shows over the long span of my career, I’ve won some, & lost some, but all the same it was an experience & made me go a little harder. (Gary Crenshaw) gave me my 1st role on the big screen in the smash hit (Coming of Age) in which I portrayed the 1st shades of my acting. I then went on to participate in multiple other projects, with (Gary Crenshaw) where I learned a side of the movie world. I also had the pleasure of being interviewed by (The Sunni & Mack Show) on YouTube. Around the same time, I met one of the best beat makers, & producer in the city, in my personal opinion, (Blue-Graviit) we’ve made countless projects together, and continue to collab our styles together to create, good music. He is also the 1st and only artist, currently on my (SpazzOutProductionz) Label. We most recently put out a project entitled (Astro-Goat) where we yet again, mix and match, our styles, and let ideas fly. Going into year 15 of making music, it’s still the same grind and hunger as the 1st time I picked up a pen and pad. It hasn’t changed 🤷🏽♂️ & I’m still as hungry as ever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has had its ups and downs, as I’m sure it has for any artist, walking down this path. But the outcomes and possibilities are endless, so I feel like it’s worth everything you put into it, cause you’ll get it back in return. The more you learn over time, I think the road gets smoother, because you know what to do, & what not to do, but overall it’s still a learning experience.
We’ve been impressed with SpazzOutProductionzLLC and True2You_Fitn3ssLLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SpazzOutProductionzLLC is my Label and Brand. I built this from the ground up, with just a hope and a vision. What sets me apart from other is my authenticity, and willingness to help others who are just starting off. Regardless of their status or budget, We help artists find themselves in a sense. We also offer coaching and critiquing for artist, as well as artist development. I’m most proud of the originality of my brand, it’s organic, it’s fresh, and it’s real.
True2You-Fitn3ss is my personal training brand in which I offer training and weight loss tips to people in need. I’ve been on a gym journey myself for the last 5 years, and I enjoy sharing my passion, & knowledge with others. What’s sets me apart from other trainers is I come to you!! Whether it’s your living room, or your backyard we will Grind, & get results!
