Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Melkumyan.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Blooming Minds Therapy was founded in 2019 by two mental health therapists who each had a background in working in non-profit mental health and a group private practice.
The mission of Blooming Minds is to promote the development of the tools, skills, and mindsets necessary to overcome the obstacles in life that keep growth stunted. We provide client-centered care to ensure the safety, comfort, and support of our clients.
Blooming Minds started as a two-therapist practice and has evolved to a ten-therapist practice. With a strong sense of ethics, hard work, and creativity the practice has grown rapidly over the last several years.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning the ins and outs of running a business was challenging. Many hours were spent learning the logistical side of running a mental health practice, working with insurance companies, and managing other therapists.
Blooming Minds Therapy began renovations to a new suite in early 2021 which was impacted by COVID delays. COVID as a whole created a lot of challenges, such as creating new policies regularly to comply with CDC recommendations. For many months, all therapist worked remotely through telehealth which encompassed a lot of challenges initially.
With time, creative solutions were found, and the Blooming Minds team grew significantly.
