Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Reid.
Hi Angela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Holland in 2009 with my husband, Jason, while working in management and quietly holding on to a long-standing interest in real estate. After we had two children, that dream took a back seat—until one Sunday at church, when a local Realtor approached Jason about joining the industry. My ears perked up, and I shared that real estate had always been a passion of mine. We scheduled lunch the next week, he walked me through the process, and I decided to pursue my license. I’ve always struggled with test anxiety and told my husband I would take the exam once—if I passed, I’d know it was meant to be. I passed, and the rest is history. Today, I’m honored to serve over 40 families a year, whether they’re first-time buyers or searching for their forever home. Every transaction is unique, and I truly love (almost) every moment of the work. In 2024, I was proud to be named among the top 300 Realtors in the Grand Rapids area, and I continue to strive for growth each year without ever compromising my commitment to exceptional service.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe real estate is a career where you truly get out what you put in. With a 75% failure rate for new agents in the first two years, I knew going in that failure wasn’t an option—but I also had to be realistic. We had a family to support, so I kept my full-time job while starting real estate part time. It was exhausting at times, but as the months went on, I started gaining momentum. People began to recognize me as a trustworthy resource for real estate, and the business steadily grew. It was nerve-racking to consider stepping away from the security of my job, but in the winter of 2022, I finally took the leap into real estate full time. The only other time things felt especially turbulent was during COVID—buyers were purchasing homes sight unseen, and while many agents had record-breaking years, it was a chaotic and uncertain time for everyone. Even through the ups and downs, I’ve learned that consistency, grit, and service always pay off in the long run.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a full-time Realtor, my role goes far beyond just buying and selling homes—it’s about guiding people through one of the most significant financial and emotional decisions of their lives. I work with a wide range of clients, from first-time homebuyers to seasoned homeowners looking for their forever home, and no two transactions are ever the same. What remains constant is my commitment to exceptional customer service. From the very beginning, I’ve prided myself on getting to know each client personally, understanding their unique needs, and making sure they feel informed and supported every step of the way. My goal is always to provide a smooth, stress-free experience, and I believe that strong communication, honesty, and genuine care are what set me apart. At the end of the day, relationships are the heart of this business, and my clients know I’m in their corner from start to finish—and beyond.
What are your plans for the future?
My goal is always to grow and improve each year—whether that means helping one more family than the year before or making a smart investment in a personal property. I don’t focus heavily on numeric targets; instead, I set meaningful personal goals that keep me moving forward. For me, it’s all about continuous progress and becoming better, both professionally and personally, year after year. My business catch phrase is “Moving Forward” and this is a constant reminder to keep my head up and crushing goals!
