Meet Angela Burgess of #MyselfIncluded

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Burgess.

Angela Burgess

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story really began long before I ever imagined leading the work I’m doing today.

I was already a therapist—helping people show up for themselves, guiding them through healing, and holding space for their growth. But somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t showing up for me. I was fully present for everyone else, yet quietly abandoning my own emotional needs. That wake-up call pushed me into a deeper healing journey of my own. As I began doing the inner work—feeling my feelings, being honest with myself, and making room for healing—I became even more grounded in the work I was doing with others.

That personal transformation inspired what would become MyselfIncluded™️: a reminder that you can support others and include yourself at the same time.

What started with just me has now grown into an entire ecosystem that continues to expand:
– MyselfIncluded 2, PLLC, my private mental-health practice
– A full Early Childhood Consulting Program supporting daycares, preschools, and families
– Evidence-based groups and clinical programs that promote emotional wellness
– And now a growing Global Ministry, extending healing work beyond the U.S.

Today, I’m honored to lead a team of 10 incredible clinicians and staff, each contributing to the mission in their own unique way.

Every part of my journey—every hallway moment, every fear I had to push through—has prepared me for this season. And I’m still evolving. My mission remains the same: reveal, deal, heal. To show people that wholeness is possible, healing is personal, and including yourself changes everything.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all — it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been seasons where imposter syndrome crept in, moments where I felt overwhelmed, overextended, and stretched thin trying to hold everything together. I’ve had times when I carried more vision than money, and dreams that felt bigger than the support I had around me. There were days I questioned myself, wondered if I was doing enough, and felt the weight of leading while still healing myself.

But every challenge taught me something. The overwhelm taught me boundaries. The lack taught me creativity. The imposter syndrome taught me to trust my calling. And the moments where I felt unsupported reminded me that God will always send the right people at the right time.

The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been necessary. And every obstacle has shaped the leader, clinician, and woman I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about #MyselfIncluded?
MyselfIncluded™️ is more than a business — it’s a movement, a mindset, and a ministry. At the core, we are a mental-health organization dedicated to helping people reveal, deal, and heal. We specialize in therapeutic services for individuals, families, and children, but our work has expanded far beyond the therapy room.

What we do & what we’re known for:
– MyselfIncluded 2, PLLC: A thriving private practice offering therapy with a team of 10 clinicians and staff
– A full Early Childhood Consulting Program supporting daycares, preschools, and early learning centers
– Groups & Clinical Programs: emotional development groups, parent support, trauma-informed workshops, and more
– Global Ministry: extending healing work internationally through missions and outreach
– Educational Tools & Resources: curriculums, assessments, journals, trainings, professional development, and our School-Based Advocacy Program — all rooted in emotional wellness and faith.

What sets us apart:
We lead with authenticity. Everything we do is grounded in emotional honesty, spiritual truth, and real-life healing. Our brand carries a unique blend of mental health, early childhood expertise, trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, and faith-centered wellness. We don’t just teach healing — we model it.

What I’m most proud of:
I’m proud that #MyselfIncluded™️ has become a safe space where people can learn to show up for themselves without guilt. I’m proud that our team is growing, our reach is expanding, and our programs are impacting children as young as two. And I am most proud that #MyselfIncluded™️ is going to Africa in April 2026 — taking our healing work global and serving communities beyond the borders of the United States. What started as one therapist and a mission has grown into an ecosystem serving families, communities, and now international ministry.

What readers should know:
Our brand is built on inclusion — not just of others, but of yourself. Our services are designed to meet people where they are: in schools, in daycares, in therapy, in groups, in faith spaces, and now across the globe. #MyselfIncluded™️ isn’t just about healing — it’s about wholeness, empowerment, and learning to take up space in your own life.

If you’ve been looking for support, resources, or a community that honors both your humanity and your healing… you’re already in the right place.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is Christmas with my family. Things always felt slower and sweeter around the holidays. One year, my dad, my sisters, and I were playing Uno Stacko when my new robotic dog started “crying” from all the noise. I remember laughing so hard and telling my dad I couldn’t turn it off because I’d lose my progress. It was simple, silly, and full of joy—one of those moments you never forget.
