Today, we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Stephan.

Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My career started in 2014 as a special education teacher. I left the field of special education to work alongside my husband in building his rapidly growing telehealth company. My husband and I successfully built a multiple six-figure telehealth company that reached thousands of customers in multiple countries. We started our real estate careers shortly after growing our telehealth company. We started investing in real estate with a one single-family home in Royal Oak. We now own 130 units ranging from a single-family home to a 56-unit apartment without outside investors. Investing in real estate progressed into starting our own property management company and real estate brokerage. I have always had a passion for helping others and teaching which has translated from my teaching profession to my real estate businesses.

Let’s dig deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you overcome?
Owning a business will naturally come with challenges. The most recent challenge was building our property management company.  I went from managing a few single family homes to managing an entire portfolio of 130 units.

I did everything in the property management business from turning apartments, building a team of contractors, preparing financial statements, and much more. There’s a lesson in every struggle or challenge in a business.  Learning and creating a system for each role in our business prepared me to have the ability to teach and speak from direct experience.

My husband and I own and operate our rental portfolio of 130 units. This ranges from single-family homes to apartment buildings.  I also own a real estate brokerage with five agents on our team. Our agents come with a wealth of knowledge and experience.  I’m proud to say our agents work majority on repeat clients and referrals which speaks volumes of the experience they give to their clients. We go above and beyond to support them beyond the transaction.

What’s next?
My husband and I plan to continue to grow our portfolio and brokerage.  It is very important to us to build a real estate team that believes in teaching others how to build their wealth through real estate.
