Meet Andrea Jones of Nothing Bundt Cakes

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Jones.

Andrea Jones

Hi Andrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into owning Nothing Bundt Cakes franchises started with a mix of my love for business and a serious sweet tooth. I’ve always had a passion for baking because of my grandmother, so when I came across Nothing Bundt Cakes, it felt like the perfect fit.

Starting with the first bakery, it was a bit of a whirlwind. There were definitely challenges, but seeing the smiles on customers’ faces when they tried our cakes made it all worth it. I wanted to create a place for my guests and employees where they could come in and feel like they were treating themselves to something special.

As the first bakery grew and I got the hang of things, I saw the potential to expand and bring that same joy to other communities. So, I went for it, and now I’m the proud owner of four Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries. My locations are Sterling Heights, Ann Arbor, Grosse Pointe, and, coming soon, Allen Park. Each has its vibe, but the goal is always the same: delivering amazing cakes and making our customers happy.

It’s been quite a ride, with lots of learning along the way, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m excited to see where we go from here and to keep growing with my team.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a journey with its fair share of bumps along the way. In the beginning, there was a lot to figure out – everything from getting the operations running smoothly to really understanding the guests in our community. Staffing was a big challenge, too; finding the right people who are just as passionate about our cake as I am wasn’t always easy.

One of the toughest parts was balancing consistency while expanding. As we opened more locations, it was crucial to keep the same high standards and customer experience across all the bakeries. That meant building a strong team and systems that could grow with us, which took a lot of time and effort.

Then, of course, there was the pandemic. Like everyone else, we faced a ton of uncertainty, but I’m proud to say we stayed open and kept serving our communities. It wasn’t easy – we had to adapt quickly and make sure our team and customers stayed safe – but we made it through.

Despite all the challenges, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how far we’ve come. The struggles have only made our successes that much sweeter, and I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way.

We’ve been impressed with A.Lynn and Nothing Bundt Cakes, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about bringing joy through delicious, handcrafted cakes. I own four Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries, where we specialize in bundt cakes that are perfect for any occasion – whether it’s a big celebration or just a treat for yourself. What really sets us apart is our commitment to quality and making sure every cake is just right.

We’re known for our rich, moist cakes and signature frosting, but I’m most proud of the experience we create for our customers. It’s not just about the cake; it’s about making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels special.

I want readers to know that when they choose Nothing Bundt Cakes, they’re not just getting a cake – they’re getting a piece of something that’s made with care and meant to make their day a little sweeter.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
When I was very young, I used to play make-believe restaurant by myself all the time, and I’d tell my parents that I wanted to be a restaurant server when I grew up. My dad would say he had other plans for us, and I’d respond with, “I was born to work a cash register.”

They laughed and didn’t think much of it after that. Fast forward, and now I own four bakeries – all with cash registers! Growing up, I was always empathetic, strong-willed, and friendly. I was the kid who was always looking to help others, and that’s something that’s stuck with me.
