Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahmad Abden

Hi Ahmad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got started in this industry through my love of cars my entire life. I always dreamed of being in and around high end, luxury sport cars since a young age. The year after highschool I went around trying out different jobs such as working construction, in restaurants, and even landscaping. After trying as much as I could out there at a young age I figured none of it was for me and knew I didn’t want to work for anyone but myself. I went to Grand Rapids community college for a few semesters and dropped out right after the sudden passing of my mother in March of 2018. Decided from there on forth I wasn’t going to do anything that doesn’t make me happy and I knew school never did so I instead went head first, all in on my own business, full time detailing cars. Started offering low prices, advertised on social media, told friends and family, next thing I knew I was doing my own thing!!! Through many ups and downs since that turning point and figuring out the business world. You can fast forward to now and we are a top rated shop here in Grand Rapids with a 5 star google rating and over 160 five star reviews on all platforms. We have been officially in business for a few years and have completely rebranded the business from basic auto detailing to now tailored to more higher end vehicle protection and aesthetics. We specialize in paint protective films and ceramic coatings, paint correction, and window tinting. Being in this business hasn’t just increased my skills with cars but also sharpened my character and emotional intelligence. I meet and interact with so many different people with so many different cars daily. I have met a lot of great and interesting people over the years. I plan to keep channeling into more services and keep scaling this business as hard as I possibly can over the coming years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not a been smooth road. Lots of high highs and low lows, scaling into new services can lack consistency at times which can be stressful, there were times I had to train myself in new skills to offer more services and during that period there would be no revenue coming in, so it takes some sacrifices along the way. Learned at this point business is an emotional rollercoaster and mind game. One phone call from a potential customer can change your entire day/week. Entrepreneurship ain’t for the weak. It’s an up and down battle, I wake up everyday like it’s war.

How do you define success?
Success is waking up in the morning and doing something you enjoy. I don’t believe it’s a dollar amount, the dollars will come when you are doing what you love. You can’t go hard on something if you don’t enjoy doing it. That’s just not gonna happen. Success is all about progressing everyday in whatever you do and sticking with it through the good and bad times. Success is being happy and blessed with where you are while still looking for areas to improve. It’s a never ending hunt.
