Today we’d like to introduce you to Abhinav Chandra.
Hi Abhinav, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I completed my MBA from the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin in 2018 and started my corporate career post my MBA in the Renewable Energy industry with ReNew (Nasdaq ticker: RNW), one of India’s largest Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer. During this time, I would often get queries from potential MBA applicants from India who were aspiring to pursue their business education within the United States. What initially started as hobby providing guidance and advice, given the lack of good professional education consulting providers for a market as large as India, eventually blossomed into an educational consulting venture. The venture is still in its nascent stages, however, has seen strong traction within the Indian market, and we hope to continue to build upon the progress we have achieved thus far. Our constant support from our clients has been truly one of the most motivating factors in the journey. We believe that we our mentorship and advice helps change our clients’ professional lives. For the time being, we have limited our services to the MBA and Masters segment of the postgraduate education; however, we have plans to expand the bouquet of offerings to career coaching, skill development, and even undergraduate education in the immediate future.
My personal view is that the university education offerings within India needs to undergo immense development and reforms to cater to the skills of the future, particularly for dynamic market like India. This factor coupled with the growing aspirations of over 1.4bn people, will be a key catalyst for our industry, and we hope to benefit for these trends in the future.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been anything but smooth. I personally feel the biggest factor that I had to overcome was self-doubt to keep myself motivated during the journey. Since the venture is bootstrapped, the lack of funds for undertaking any kind of extensive marketing efforts along with hiring the right talent has been a challenge. However, I must add that these challenges have pushed me to innovate, think outside the box, and evaluate unconventional solutions for some of the crucial problems. We continue to work with a lot of freelancers, gig-workers for our crucial functions, and contrary to popular belief, the experience has been amazing thus far. Lastly, the biggest constraining factor has been the lack of a brand since we are still new guys on the block, and thus, we have to focus that much harder to develop the business.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
