Meet Abby Sirovica of Grassroots Family Chiropractic & Grassroots Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby Sirovica.

Hi Abby, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduation I practiced for 3 years in California which was an expansive and eye-opening experience as a Michigan girl. The area I practiced in is known as the tech mecca headquarters; Teslas, Facebook, Google and expansive nature to explore all around you. As I served and connected with people there was one thing that continually tugged at my heart; the ability for authenticity and congruency with people. I utilized chiropractic and a more natural, wellness lifestyle daily. I wanted everyone to have access to chiropractic care. This was the foundation Grassroots was born out of. Moving back to Michigan, I was ready to be by my family and cultivate a culture of inclusion, joy, support, and truth; this became Grassroots.

At first, I was every portion of my operation from “Hello” on the phone through the reschedule! Sharing with people that the body is meant to heal and helping facilitate function back into their lives was nothing short of joy every single day. Couple this with the foundation of affordability, loving what you do and accessibility it’s no wonder Grassroots continued to grow daily. The thing I am daily grateful and curious about is how it continues to take on a life of its’ own. A lot of what we do is “against the grain.” We promote function; natural healing; a wellness lifestyle; people-first policies; affordability; authenticity; women-owned and ran; family-first culture; joy-based culture; inclusion of everyone’s needs and growth. We truly believe a “company” can be built with people in mind versus numbers or goals. To be in Grassroots is to want to be a part of it. This is because of the amazing women and patrons that support and love this community. We got to the point we are today by working on staying out of the state of ego and working on ourselves. By being open to saying “yes” and trusting that our BIG dreams had a reason to show up.

By having gratitude daily and living by the quote “if you want to go fast; go alone. If you want to go far; go together.” I can’t wait to see where Grassroots goes as we feel there is so much work to be done in supporting families, fertility, wellness, nutrition, and healing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To anyone with a dream or building something bigger than they could imagine knowing that the discomfort is part of the journey. A good friend told me we must cultivate three things: enjoy the journey, pay it forward and be successful. Starting Grassroots was a completely different business model. It had been done, my good friend in California showed me this but a lot of trusting it would work back home in Michigan was scary. Every time I was called to grow my comfort zone was tested. Those days, who am I kidding not days, usually weeks and months, included strong faith music, knowing that if it doesn’t challenge us it won’t change us, and the quote “if it were easy everyone would do it.”

It helped me a lot learning to journal and breath deep in the space of a lot of our anxiety or struggle in excitement and preparation for the bigger things we are meant to do. I owned an in-person business that includes touching people during a pandemic, grew a team when I was still learning (still am!) how to be a leader, hit obstacle after obstacle with a new building remodel, and felt alone at times and yet it always worked out. Some days you’re the mosquito; some days you’re the windshield. Through the struggle, it reaffirmed daily to me that the people around you are the reason to do it and you’re going to get there, wherever there is for your heart, but when you do you will miss these days. That is the mindset I try to recenter on when it feels like I am in the thick of it!

We’ve been impressed with Grassroots Family Chiropractic & Grassroots Collective, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Grassroots Family Chiropractic is a member-based model of chiropractic care. Our doctors take care of the whole family but have a genius zone and further experience and training in taking care of pregnant patients, babies and kiddos. We have grown to Grassroots Collective as we know health includes adjustments but has so many different aspects to it. We want our community to live their best life and feel supported in defining what physical, spiritual, and emotional health is to them. The collective offers nutritional therapy, full-color spectrum infrared sauna, and massage therapy.

We are a fully women-owned and led business and we truly love what we do and love our people. I think that is the special sauce of Grassroots. Our brand lives authentically what it is trying to cultivate! We always say “if they knew what we knew, they’d do what we do.” SO many times in life I knew something had to give; something had to change I just didn’t know what to do. We are cultivating a place that may not have ALL the answers but that is here for you to help find them. Life is meant to be lived thriving, not just surviving and we are here for you!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
When starting out just some days you might have to take as “one more day.” What I mean by this is if you don’t know, just get in gratitude, remind yourself of why you started, and then give it one more day. If you do this continually it won’t be an “if it’ll work out” it will simply be a matter of “how.” Be open to redefining what “success” is and follow your soul’s needs versus what society might say is successful. You can’t go wrong cultivating a life true to you! Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help or not have the answers!

There are so many wonderful people around you that are not only willing to help but absolutely want to! Look to the helpers and surround yourself with conversations, podcasts, people, books, and content that is building your worthiness and moving you towards your dreams. I wish I knew how supported and loved I was starting out.

Seriously, we are here to help no matter your dream or business! Follow and soak in anything that is an expander for you!
