Life & Work with Tineile Heiler of Bloomfield Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tineile Heiler.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came to the Detroit area from Jackson to go to Wayne State. All through college I worked at the universities Rec Center and YMCA downtown as a personal trainer. However, when I graduated was enrolled to begin chiropractor school that Fall. During the break between undergrad and graduate school I accepted a personal training job at a gym in Bloomfield. I was there for 7 years before Covid, forgoing a pursuit of chiropractic medicine. 2020’s rollercoaster of “unknown” gave me the motivation to put things in my own hands and start my business. 5 years have flown by and I couldn’t be more grateful for the community that has supported my role in doing what I love.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The first year on my own was terrifying. Not knowing for sure how it would pan out, but putting all my effort into as many avenues of business I thought my clientele would want: virtual, in-person, nutrition coaching, ebooks, etc.

Though I was knew to “being on my own” I wasn’t knew to being a coach and I’ve always known what you put in is what you get out and always putting your client first will come back to you in good karma.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I coach professionals that operate at high levels needing a stress outlet and endorphin booster and parents that need to give 1 hour a day to be their best self for their families and self.

What I’ve learned in the 12 years of coaching is this:

– Progress over perfection
– Giving my clients proper guidance and direction along with entertainment to distract them from feeling like a workout is an unspoken art that I love mastering every day

I’m most proud of how I show up for my clients with joy, excitement, an open ear, and an opportunity to vent but anything.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Immerse yourself in an environment that you’re uncomfortable with; I.e go to place you that specializes in something you’re interested and introduce yourself. Ask to shadow for a day. Start there to help you grow and learn. And don’t stop doing that because we will always have room to grow.

Get on LinkedIn, find professionals in your field that have been in the field for years. Connect with them over coffee. Start with a conversation of interest and let the conversation lead you.
