Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamela C. Todd. 

Hi Tamela, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Tamela C. Todd, A Certified Mental Health Coach. The Owner of The Tamela C. Todd LLC Brand, an Author, Mental Health Coach, Speaker, and other times you’ll find me fighting stereotypes surrounding mental health and the stigmas associated with it. 

The pandemic had a significant effect on our mental health – we all struggled; it also brought to light the importance of taking our mental health seriously. According to the National Alliance on Mental Health, one in five adults suffers from anxiety, depression, or another mental health condition. Mental disorders are currently at an all-time high, and we’re not sure the reason why. It could be the added stress of having to survive during a pandemic, staying afloat despite the economic recession, building a career, raising kids, trying to stay healthy and afloat, all during a pandemic. 

But one thing is sure; we need to look after our mental health; after all, it is essential to our overall well-being and just as important as physical health. 

I believe sharing your story, releases you from your past and propels you into prosperity. Through transparency, author Tamela C. Todd inspires others to recognize the value in their testimony. As a passionate certified mental health coach, you’ll find me fighting stereotypes surrounding mental health and the stigmas associated with it. 

With keen insight, I understand the effects of physical, emotional, and mental trauma. 

I seek to help women turn their emotional trauma into healthy habits and behavior through my online/group coaching programs. Throughout my programs and books, you will gain knowledge on how to manage your emotions, tips on improving your relationships skills, teach you how to recognize and challenge negative thinking, and aid in reducing your stress and anxiety. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Mental Health is a complex topic. It includes mental illnesses like anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. Note that a formal diagnosis with anxiety or depression is not everything. It does not mean that they have good mental health and well-being. 

We all deserve to thrive as human beings. Not only survival, not only existing, but we must also thrive as well. Positive mental health is beneficial to everyone. A mental health coach empowers people to new levels. Levels where their mental health and well-being are flourishing.

I have over 25 years in the healthcare field. Working in healthcare has taught me to never regret the time you have with your family. Celebrate every day like it’s your last.
