Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay Willz
Hi Shay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Darshay Williams, better known as ‘Shay Willz’. I was born on the westside of Detroit, MI, and I’m every woman! I’m a woman of God, author, actress, comedian, healthcare provider, principal investigator (PI): the head honcho of a lab, content creator/influencer, rideshare driver, motivational speaker, and a mother of three beautiful children! I am passionate about everything I put my heart and mind to do, and God sees fit to bless it. I believe in 8-10 different streams of income. I aspire to break generational curses and create generational wealth for my family and my community. I wrote a memoir titled; “The Road To Becoming The Best Version Of Myself”, which is an inspiring memoir. I chose to write my memoir to tell my story in hopes of helping anyone who has also endured trauma from a family member whom they have trusted. I want to give my followers and my fans my full transparency and allow them to relate, connect, and get to know me on a deeper level other than just my comedy. I want my readers to know why I wake up and choose to have peace of mind over everything else. Although I have endured a lot and seen a lot, I was not one to get knocked down and stay there for too long. In my book, you will meet a young girl, a turned-woman who looked death in the face many times. I went about life making decisions out of anger until I became accountable for my life and my actions. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road throughout, but God! He has carried me through, no matter what the circumstances looked like. There were many struggles in retraining my mindset from my old way of thinking into a positive new way of thinking. I had to isolate myself from others and not be easily accessible to any and everyone, especially if they are not adding value to my life. I now associate with people who have the same trajectory as me. There’s a quote that says, “Show me your future and I’ll show you your friends!” I had to buckle down and starve out my distractions to master discipline and consistency.

I am a woman of many hats. I am an author, actress, comedian, healthcare provider, rideshare driver, and a content creator/influencer. I specialize in making people’s day, and entertain by making others laugh often. Waking up daily with a grateful heart, allows me to encourage, inspire, and uplift people any chance or opportunity that I get. I am most proud of myself for finishing my book within 3 days. Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I advise everyone to keep God first in your life and surround yourself with like-minded people. Re-train your mindset and thinking for the greater good. Get into rooms with people that are smarter than you. Be a student first before becoming a master of something. Watch television in moderation and don’t answer the phone as much, as it can be a distraction to your growth. Be accountable and try your best to right your wrongs. Invest in yourself daily, because knowledge is power. Stay prayerful, watchful, consistent, and disciplined!
