Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Grant.
Hi Sam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My interest in photo/video started in high school when my dad gifted me a camera, and I realized how much fun it was to take pictures of my life and my friends.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I strongly believe that nothing really happens without a bit of luck, and that was definitely a part of my journey, but the flip side of that is that luck can only get you to the door; you still have to walk through it and stay in the room and make an impact, and that’s what happened for me. I caught a lucky break that changed the whole trajectory of my life, but when that opportunity finally presented itself, I showed up and put in work and was always extremely grateful and thankful to everybody who has worked with me and given me a chance.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have been working on a really awesome project with the English band Muse for Jim Beam since March, and the final chapter of the campaign has just been shot, so it will be released soon. It is in combination with Rolling Stone magazine, and it’s been the perfect blend of what I do… it’s music, but it’s also a big brand. I also have one more video in the works that I made for a band that played Burning Man. They were basically the first rock band to play Burning Man, and I was there with them shooting it. Those two projects have basically been in my top 5 favorite shoots of all time.
