Life & Work with Nicholas Pope of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Pope.

Nicholas, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a kid I was always writing but it was never in the form of music. My parents were going through things and I never wanted to “add” extra stress, so and pen and 5 star notebook was my “friend ” in a way. I was never picked to jump into cyphers with the cool kids, so during high school on my way to career prep with my friend group, I would FORCE them to freestyle with me lol. Even though they did not rap, they did it anyway because we were homies. On the last week of school, I just asked, should I start making songs and to my surprise, they said HELL YEA. Since 2015 til now, I have been making music. To fill in the gaps, I will save that for the interview.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I will say, its been more ruff patches but overall, it did not matter to me because I know I am going to make this happen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Detroit-Based Rapper. I started from ground zero when it comes to, learning how to rap, create songs, recording, mixing and mastering, etc. What sets me apart is my story, my determination and my willingness to make mistakes and learn from them. I have been around rappers, who completely gave up or lost faith and just do it for fun. Even to the naked eye, they appeared more marketable.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Like my last answer, my willingness to learn and make mistakes. Plus, every year I get better. You could go through my catalog and year by year, EVERY SONG GETS BETTER.
