Life & Work with Momo Madison of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Momo Madison.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Monique Madison started doing drag in 1996. Beginning in Kalamazoo at the young age of 18, Monique has been lucky enough to perform all over the country with house cast positions in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Detroit. Monique has had two film role in A Holiday I Do and Delirium. She also just wrapped on filming season one of a sitcom called The Agency, where she plays leading role Parker/Iowna. now available on TUBI. Momo is also the author of The Serial Showgirls Series available on Amazon and at Barn’s and Noble. Monique created The Kunty Kittens in 2016 with the intention of creating that divalicious girl group sensation that everyone loves and infuse it with the best drag personalities Michigan has to offer.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Constant resistance towards the LGBTQIA+ community has been my biggest struggle, but I will always fight for the rights of my community. I am blessed to have a platform so I utilize it to it’s fullest.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an actor, author, activist, stand up comedian, and a drag artist.

What are your plans for the future?
I am moving in the direction of opening a non profit called Golden Tails. It will be a senior dog rescue that will focus on older dogs in their geriatric chapter of life.
