Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Vosler.
Kristen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our farm Journey begins the year of COVID and the birth of our first born daughter. 5 years ago, we moved to the country. Found our farm home and have never looked back.
Our whole life shifted. For many reasons, I changed jobs. Started working remotely full time.
With two acres to play with. I just started planting! I’ve always loved gardening. Growing up, my mother always kept beautiful garden’s. We started with selling extra flowers and veggies at a scary looking, but functional farm stand. Quickly became obsessed. Only took one season and the birth of our second daughter. I was hooked!
We worked hard for another year and a half. Those were the hardest years. My husband and I travelled for work and just tried to survive. But, I was being pulled home.
Going into our third season now, I am home full time. We grow and sell 1,000’s of beautiful stems. We now specialize in cut flowers, seasonal wreaths, dried florals, holiday crafts and gifts. You can find us at a book store off Alpine, during the growing season. At our store front flower shed, at our farm. Open weekly from May- December.
Also selling to wedding designers.
The community is so supportive of what we are creating! We share our story on Instagram and Facebook.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say the road has been very bumpy. But the purpose was never blurry.
Struggles of juggling being a stay at home mom and grow a business. Is hard. There is no other way to say it. But the fulfillment is irreplaceable.
This is a family run business. It will grow as our girls grow.
Balancing it all will always be our biggest hurdle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Grow seasonal florist grade cut flowers. We are most proud of the varieties we offer.
Along with our unique gifts items we offer thru the season. Changing every few weeks.
We stand out for the varieties of flowers we grow. We try and bring our customers an experience, when they visit the farm.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’m the risk taker. My husband is not!
Investing in this farm and hoping customers show up, is a huge risk. I work diligently to constantly come up with new ways to get our flowers into more customers hands. Showing up daily on social media. So customers already know what to expect before coming to the farm. This has worked really well for us.
