Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Scholl.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sure! My journey began with a deep passion for health, herbs, and connecting with people. I started Jordan’s Teas out of a love for tea and wellness… blending herbs in my kitchen, selling at local farmers markets, and sharing the healing properties of plants.
As I traveled and learned from tea farmers and herbalists around the world—in places like Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Japan, and more—I realized how powerful botanicals are in both traditional and modern wellness. I wanted to bring that knowledge and culture back to my customers in Michigan and beyond.
Today, Jordan’s Teas offers a curated selection of organic teas, coffees, and wellness botanicals online and at events. I’ve built an amazing community, launched a weekly newsletter called Tea Time Tuesday, and started documenting my sourcing journeys through short videos on social media and blog posts.
The goal now is to become a go-to source for people who care about quality, wellness, and culture. It’s been a wild, fulfilling journey—fueled by curiosity, creativity, and community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been a winding road… sometimes literally. I’ve gotten lost on the back roads of other countries chasing down leads on tea farms I’d only heard about through word of mouth. One of the biggest challenges has been figuring out how to source high-quality botanicals that don’t grow here in Michigan, while still keeping everything ethical, organic, and aligned with my values.
I’ve had to learn how to communicate across cultures, navigate language barriers, and build relationships with farmers I’d never met before—sometimes showing up with just Google Translate and a big smile. Back home, it’s been a balancing act between running the business, educating customers, managing inventory, and getting up before the sun for market setups.
But every challenge—from international sourcing to early mornings—has made me more grounded, resourceful, and deeply connected to the mission behind Jordan’s Teas.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Jordan’s Teas, I create purposeful tea, coffee, and botanical blends that support wellness and inspire connection. What sets my brand apart is that everything is deeply intentional—from the way I source and grow ingredients to the way I connect with customers.
I specialize in unique, high-quality blends that you can’t find on store shelves. Many of the botanicals I use are sourced directly from small farms I’ve visited in countries like Japan, Vietnam, Nepal, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka. I also put a lot of love into what I grow and wild harvest. I don’t just buy ingredients—I meet the farmers, learn their traditions, and make sure I’m sourcing with integrity.
I’ve created a weekly newsletter called Tea Time Tuesday that shares not just product info, but also wellness tips, travel stories, and reflections from the journey. My social media follows me around the world as I visit tea farms and bring those experiences back to my customers.
What I’m most proud of is the community that’s formed around Jordan’s Teas—people who care about health, culture, and being intentional with what they consume. Every time someone tells me that one of my teas helped them feel better, unwind, or create a peaceful moment in their day—that’s what keeps me going.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I think most people see the side of Jordan’s Teas with the colorful markets, beautiful blends, and travel adventures.. but what they might not know is how much of this business was born from a deep need for healing and connection. I started exploring tea and herbs not just as a product, but as a personal practice during a time when I was craving more peace, grounding, and purpose.
Also, even though I travel solo across the world sourcing teas from Sri Lanka to Taiwan, it sometimes surprises people is that I’m actually a huge introvert. I need quite time, breathwork, journaling, and nature to recharge I think that’s part of why I fell in love with tea—it creates sacred, slow moments and invites you to find pleasure in the simple things. That’s the energy I try to infuse into every cup I share.
