Hi Johanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Fourteen years after immigrating from Budapest, Hungary, I’ve successfully adapted to the local culture and language with my husband’s support! Initially, it was tough, missing family and navigating cultural differences, but I’ve built a life and a family here.
I decided to go to school and learn how to be a florist,and a same time i started searching for floral designer jobs.I was always interested about creating and creating something with flowers was just a big bonus.I found a job andcthats where i feel like learned a lot about this business/occupation. It was a great opportunity to see and learn how to deal with customers with vendors and coworkers and felt passion about the variety and layers of the job.But the challenges of balancing weekend work and retail hours with two little ones was hard so I decided to launch my own online flower shop in 2024!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is indeed a challenge to gain recognition specially all the talented florists and designers around Shelby Township. However, with consistent effort, I feel that Philanthia Flower is beginning to gain visibility. Building my own website was definitely a challenge especially as I had no prior experience in web design.
