Life & Work with Elisabeth Kassab

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisabeth Kassab. 

Hi Elisabeth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Elisabeth Kassab. I’m 23 years old from Grosse Pointe, MI. While I was at Michigan State University and the pandemic hit, I decided to take on a side hobby to my Advertising major. I started posting styled outfits on Instagram (@stylistcheck), and I loved creating the looks so much that I never stopped. Through consistency and notoriety from other influencers and celebrities, that’s how my account got to where it is today. It allowed me to grow a social media presence and grow my styling and personal shopping business in the process. Now, I am a full-time in-person and virtual stylist, personal shopper, and content creator based in Michigan. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, I would say things have been smooth but there definitely have been some struggles. There was a lot of pressure to move to a bigger, fashion-centric city like Los Angeles or New York. I definitely wouldn’t write those places off in the future, but I wanted to do what I loved in Michigan to start out. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a stylist, personal shopper, and content creator. I do in-person and virtual styling so that I can connect with new clients all over the world. I’m known for my aesthetics and my fully styled ‘mood boards’ if you will, on Instagram. My followers love getting inspiration from my page and that is the main way new clients find me. That is definitely what I’m most proud of because without my page I would not be where I am today or be able to work and be friends with the amazing people I am now. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I am Michigan based and not based in a big city that the majority of my industry is located in. People in smaller cities want to be fashionable too! 

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I always knew I was into clothes and fashion, but I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I would always make shopping carts full of clothes on different websites just so I could see everything in one place, and then I would exit out and do it over again.
