Hi Eisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in supporting women in business began with a simple idea: to empower and uplift women entrepreneurs by providing them with the resources and support they needed to succeed. I started by hosting workshops and networking events, creating a space where women could share their experiences, gain valuable insights, and connect with like-minded professionals. As the demand for these opportunities grew, I realized there was a greater need for a dedicated space where women could work, collaborate, and grow their businesses in a supportive environment. This led to the opening of the Women in Business Working Center—a vibrant hub designed specifically for women to thrive. Our center offers a range of services, from coworking spaces to mentorship programs, all aimed at fostering innovation and success among women entrepreneurs. Seeing the positive impact of this space on so many incredible women’s lives has been immensely rewarding and reaffirms my commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening the Women in Business Working Center was an incredibly rewarding experience, but it also came with its share of challenges and obstacles. One of the initial hurdles was securing funding and resources. As with any new venture, finding financial backing to cover startup costs and sustain operations was a significant challenge.

Additionally, identifying and renovating a suitable space to meet the diverse needs of our members required considerable effort. We needed a location that was accessible, welcoming, and functional—ensuring it met all regulatory and safety standards while reflecting the supportive environment we aimed to create.

Building a strong and dedicated team was another challenge. Finding individuals who shared our vision and were passionate about empowering women in business required careful recruitment and training.

Lastly, establishing a robust community and attracting members to our center took time. It was essential to create awareness, build trust, and demonstrate the value of the center through outreach and engagement efforts.

Despite these challenges, each obstacle overcame was a step toward creating a thriving, supportive space for women entrepreneurs, and the positive impact on our community has made the journey worthwhile.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am deeply committed to making a difference through my work across several impactful initiatives. As the founder and director of E-Community Outreach Services, a nonprofit organization, I focus on empowering individuals and strengthening communities through a range of outreach programs and essential support services. Our locations include the Parent Empowerment Center , where we offer resources and workshops to support and educate parents, and the Family Membership Store, which provides access to vital goods and services for families in need.

Additionally, I am the proud owner of the Women in Business Working Center, a dynamic space dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs. This center provides a collaborative and innovative environment where women can network, grow their businesses, and access mentorship programs.

We also operate the Mobile Resource Bus, which brings our services and store items directly to the community, making it easier for individuals and families to access what they need. Balancing these roles allows me to contribute to community development and support women and families in achieving their goals, which is incredibly fulfilling and drives my passion for creating positive change.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Lessons from the Crisis:

1. Adapt Quickly: Flexibility in operations and services is essential.
2. Communicate Clearly: Keep stakeholders informed to build trust and manage uncertainty.
3. Build Resilience:Develop contingency plans and diversify resources to withstand disruptions.
4. Prioritize Well-being: Support mental health and prevent burnout among staff and clients.
5. Embrace Technology: Use digital tools to enhance efficiency and expand reach.
6. Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with others to leverage additional resources and support.
7. Learn and Evolve: Reflect on what worked and what didn’t to improve future strategies.
8. Stick to Core Values: Align decisions with your mission to stay grounded.
9. Engage the Community: Gather feedback to better meet their needs.
10. Prepare for the Unexpected: Develop comprehensive risk management and crisis response plans.
