Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Buesser.
Diane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I practiced trial law for 15 years before realizing the stress of that work was negatively impacting my health and overall well-being. I decided to stop practicing law and follow my passion for sharing my crystal jewelry and other crystal designs with the world.
I’ve been fascinated with the metaphysical properties of crystals since I was a young teen, and I’ve been studying them and making jewelry and other creations with them since that time. For years, I just gave them away as gifts, but during Covid, I decided to make a business out of it.
Local shops, businesses, and festivals invite me to showcase my products during holidays and various weekends throughout the year. I also offer virtual shopping, where I FaceTime interested shoppers, scan my tables, and allow them to select their purchases.
They also have the option to schedule private shopping appointments with me at my home. Recently, I began offering crystal parties where I give a short lecture about crystals followed by the opportunity for everyone to make a piece of jewelry. They are a big hit for birthdays and special occasions.
My life is now filled with peace, rather than stress. And I love what I do every day!! I hope to inspire others to follow their hearts and find ways to do what they love while bringing joy to others.
I try to live my life in a way that honors and reflects the teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, an Indian Guru, who has been a guiding light in my life. His primary teachings include, love for everyone, telling the truth and feeding the hungry. In his honor, 10% of all proceeds are donated to that cause.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a new business is probably never easy. It takes time to develop a clientele and reputation in the community for quality and craftsmanship. Getting my name out there and marketing my creations have been the most challenging parts of this venture, but I am starting to see a lot of repeat business and referrals from happy customers so I believe my hard work is paying off!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make custom jewelry, meditation malas, keychains, hair clips, and pendulums out of genuine crystals found in the earth. I also create sprays and scrubs that are infused with clear quartz crystals and organic lavender from my garden. Some of my other products include crystal planters and crystal air-plant holders. The idea for the crystal planters and hanging holders came to me one day while I was making jewelry. I googled both to see if anyone else was doing anything similar and happily found that the idea was unique.
I immediately started turning my ideas into actual products and tested them out to make sure they were durable and long-lasting. While people seem to love the jewelry I create, the planters/hangers are probably my best-selling items–I usually sell out of them at every show I attend. Other popular items include bracelets and cell phone stickers made of Russian Shungite which are known for protecting against the harmful effects of electronics. Finally, I offer very good quality geodes from around the world.
Other than my unique products, I believe what sets me apart from others is the personal service I provide, making myself available to accommodate all schedules and needs, as well as the crystal parties that I offer, where people learn about some of the benefits of the stones and have a chance to make a piece of jewelry. What I think people like the most is that I welcome custom orders, whereby people will contact me, tell me a little bit about what’s going on in their lives, and I’ll design a piece with the appropriate crystals to address their needs.
What does success mean to you?
I believe that life is really about service to others. So, the way I would define success would have to be bringing joy to others through the work that I do!
