Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Beaudoin.
Hi Caleb, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am an actor. I was born in Flint, Michigan. At a young age, my parents divorced, which is a big part of my life, but it’s a part of my life that has led me to this point. My father is a huge inspiration to me he is the owner of a Pool Company, which is my day job of where I work when I am not acting. I found the concept the idea of acting at a young age I had speaking roles in small school plays, and I was not afraid of a crowd, I was a Boy Scout and a Cub Scout too. I was part of the association from 2012-2020. A lot of my life experiences and the greatest friends I’ve met came from Boy Scouts. During Boy Scouts, there was various camps where skits would be performed, and I was always part of them I always liked being a part of entertainment. I was in small play projects in school as well, I performed in front of crowds all the time but just in school settings, and I liked it I wasn’t afraid of it. I always loved movies, tv shows, and actors, and being in a movie being the lead seemed like greatest thing to me. After a long summer of working with my dad in 2022, just before the start of my final year of high school, I realized I have always wanted to be seen, and I want to display a talent for the world that I believe I have So I started studying I signed up for acting classes at Goteri Creative which started in September 2022, I researched everything about being an actor got my headshots, I started putting the time in. The first thing about acting was booking my first job I had a tough time doing so I applied, but I only had a headshot nothing else in November, I went to auditions for several student films the one that stood out to me was Romeo and Julius. I booked it. I was the lead role as Michael Romeo. It was unpaid, but I don’t care I am a man of the process I believe in making art regardless of the pay. I was just happy to finally be part of something and have work I can show people. I landed the role in December, and in March the short film released on YouTube. 2023 I was officially an actor. Also, in March, I landed my second project and my first paid job a Vietnam War Short Film tittled “Boys Will Be” I landed the lead role of Levi Liebstien. This is my next set project to release. I am young, and I have a dream I wanna go far, and I have a long road ahead of me. This is years of work and dedication that I am willing to give. I am actively doing auditions trying to build my resume. I am graduating High School this year, and I plan to attend a one-year film school trade program. I am gonna spend my transition into adulthood in Michigan, and I am starting to save so that hopefully in the next two years I can make the move to Los Angeles and take my career to the next level. It’s a big step, and I have a long way to go…
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being young and transitioning into becoming responsible for everything I have to do for acting was the toughest for me. I spent my teenage years during the pandemic, and I had a way different high school experience than others.
Getting started with acting also troubled me. I had no idea where to start. I was gonna just start signing up for auditions with no classes. I didn’t even know you needed headshots. I didn’t know how expensive it was gonna be to get started and being in high school and not having money all my money would have to go into acting whether it be the cost of gas or having to reject hanging out with friends. Thankfully I have revived nothing but support from friends which helps so much.
But acting has taught me a responsibility and helped me to find a maturity I have to always work on my craft and career every week. I do it all by myself and have no help from parents, only their support. Which to me is enough the biggest help I received has been from people in the game who are inspirations to me and have given me the best advice.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor. I have been the lead roles in two films and am constantly auditioning looking for the next level up in my career. I have played the lead roles in two short films. I am most proud of how I was able to book these two films so fast. I think the sets me apart is my looks I am not the most handsome man on the planet, but I am good looking, and I can transform my look I feel too and stand out from my height and face I can get into a look, I played a 25-year-old at 17 which I was able to transform well and look the part. I still have so much more work to do though these are just steps, and there is hundreds more to go.
What matters most to you? Why?
Putting on a show, I think matters the most to me. I am playing a character portraying someone else’s emotions, and it is caught on film being real being in the moment so that way someone is watching a moment in someone’s life and not Caleb Beaudoin standing there.
