Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali D’Haillecourt.

Hi Ali, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a kid I was always going through old family photos at my grandparents home & as I got older I would steal my moms camera & take photos of everything around our home & neighborhood then in high school I had gotten grounded for the summer for a bad grade & was told to pick a hobby & I chose photography. That summer for my birthday I got my first DSLR which was a Canon Rebel XS & never put it down. Friends & their families started to hire me to take their senior photos, family photos & even their weddings. I shot my first wedding that year at 15 & fell in love. I knew that’s what I wanted to do forever so Photography by Ali K was born. Since then I have captured well over 100 weddings, countless family, newborn, senior grad, couples, proposals, boudoir, business & branding sessions. I moved my buisness from Tucson, AZ to Michigan 5 1/2 years ago & went full time. I fell in love with Michigan & just how beautiful it is literally everywhere. It has been the best backdrop to the greatest moments & it’s really rad because I still get to go back home to Tucson & capture moments so I get best of both worlds & feel so lucky.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a business always comes with obstacles. I will share two of my biggest. So my first was moving a business to a state where I knew absolutely no one but with non stop perseverance I did it. I moved here July 2019 & shot my first wedding here June 2020. My second was deciding when to go full time & having the confidence to not listen to those who doubted. I went full time 5 years ago & it truly was the best decision I could have ever made. I love what I do & I couldn’t feel luckier to be entrusted to capture people’s once in a lifetime moments.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am primarily a wedding photographer who dabbles in videography, I love capturing weddings so much. But I also love being able to follow my couples throughout their life after their wedding day. Being invited back in to my couples lives is the biggest compliment ever. It’s the coolest thing following someone’s story. A lot of my past couples have been inviting me back in for babies & it has been the coolest thing. This is why I started this. It’s about more than a wedding for me it’s about the whole story & what’s to come in their incredible lives. I’m so proud of myself for never giving up no matter what obstacle has come my way since I started this journey at 15, 15 year old me would be so proud to see we made it where we’d always hoped. So thankful God gave me this ability & that I am able to share it with others & love on other people & serve them through it, it’s the best. My style has definitely evolved over the years into a timeless, romantic, documentary/storytelling, touch of film feel.
