Life & Work with Aaliyah Jadan of Metro Detroit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaliyah Jadan.

Aaliyah Jadan

Hi Aaliyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey everyone! I’m Aaliyah, and I’m beyond excited to share my journey with you. Growing up, I was born into the world of entrepreneurship. My parents owned restaurant after restaurant, and I witnessed firsthand the hard work, dedication, and passion that went into building their own businesses.

As a kid, I was always fascinated by fashion and hair. I mean, who didn’t love playing dress-up and experimenting with different hairstyles? But what really stuck with me was my dream of one day owning my own hair salon. It was like a fire ignited within me, and I knew I had to pursue it.

Fast forward to my journey as a hairstylist. I enrolled in a program, got licensed, and it all just clicked. The creativity, the connection with clients, the constant learning – it all felt so natural to me. And that’s when it hit me: this is what I’m meant to do.

As I grew in my career, I realized that there was another passion of mine that I wanted to pursue – creating comfortable, stylish, and sustainable uniforms for service workers. That’s how ‘Not @ Your Service’ was born!

Today, I’m proud to say that I’m living my dream. I have a beautiful Salon with two of my dear friends named Studio A3, where I get to make people feel confident and beautiful every day. And with ‘Not @ Your Service,’ I’m on a mission to empower service workers worldwide to feel seen, heard, and valued.

It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m grateful for every twist and turn. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that listening to your inner voice and trusting your instincts is key. So, to anyone who’s chasing their dreams, I see you, I hear you, and I believe in you. Let’s do this!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not! But would I change a thing? No way. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced is seeking external validation. I used to ask for people’s approval and opinions on my ideas and desires. But I’ve learned that not everyone shares your vision, and that’s okay. In fact, it’s more than okay – it’s liberating.

When you’re an entrepreneur, you have to be willing to take the road less traveled. You have to trust your instincts and follow your own path. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.

Another challenge I’ve faced is financial and motivational ups and downs. There are months when I’m on fire, and everything is clicking. And then there are months when I feel stuck, and I have to remind myself that everything comes in waves.

It’s essential to be patient with yourself and understand that success is not a linear journey. When you feel stuck, it’s not a sign of failure – it’s an opportunity to pivot, redirect, and strategize in a new way. So, to anyone who’s on this entrepreneurial journey with me, I see you, and I feel you. Keep pushing forward, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m so excited to share my work with you. As a hairstylist and entrepreneur, I specialize in a variety of services, including coloring, extensions, bridal hair, cutting, and more. What sets me apart is my unique ability to intuitively understand my clients’ needs and tailor my services to exceed their expectations.

I take immense pride in my commitment to ongoing education and growth. I believe that staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends is essential to delivering exceptional results. My passion for learning and self-improvement drives me to continuously push boundaries and innovate.

One of my greatest strengths is my unwavering dedication to my clients and my craft. When I commit to something, I give it my all. My clients appreciate my reliability, work ethic, and attention to detail.

What I’m most proud of is turning my vision into a reality. Believing in myself and my abilities has been instrumental in my success. I’m proud to be a role model for others, showing that with hard work, determination, and a bit of creativity, anything is possible and there are no limits!
