Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Maxx Pain

Maxx Pain shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Maxx, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I just celebrated my 6th movie premiere on August 17th for my new film “Study Buddies” and was extraordinary. It’s my first film using a class room of students and those kids made me feel like Spike Lee or Tyler Perry the way they greeted me with Prestige, taking pictures going live and seeing the genuine gratitude from young people just gave me a energy through out the night that can’t be explained. I cast based off peoples real life personalities matching the character I wrote so finding the right people isn’t as hard.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I come from Detroit Michigan vastly know as the Motown a musical powerhouse at one point, the birth place of motor vehicles , ironically it feels like they may have put a motor in my back cause since I’ve came out the womb I’ve been a workhorse. Sharpening my musical skills as early as eight years old I grew up and started to rap and sing and produce the tracks for the vocals I would record myself under the name “Maxx Pain”. my musical skills have taken me across the U.S.A head lining the house of Blues in 2018 to amassing over 24 Million streams on my music worldwide. The Music was just the beginning cause my writing ability was showing on every level, in 2016 I wrote my first Movie “My Hittas” producing it shortly after with no clue it would become a urban classic throughout ghettos across America amassing over 80 Million views with My Hittas 1 & 2 Combined. After those first two movies I was rolling, I put out a musical called “The Noise in Music” then a Comedy called “Uncle Roommate” after that a comedy special called “Best Around Comedy” and as of recent I just produced my latest comedy called “Study Buddies” about two roommates who start up a escort business aimed at Studs and Lesbians that I premiered on August 17th coming to platforms shortly.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The most earliest powerful moment I’ve felt was when I was in the fifth grade and I had missed a few days due to being sick, there was a writing assignment that was giving two days prior while I wasn’t at school and the teacher said your fine Kevin you weren’t here you can make it up but my competitive nature just couldn’t take it, by the time lunch came I had started on the paper and before the day was over I had finished the paper and turned it in, she graded it on the spot and gave me a A saying my punctuation was excellent, I knew at that point it was nothing that couldn’t be done it was a four paragraph paper on the United States constitution.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Life gave me suffering that can build you into fortune five hundred or a homeless man under the freeway. Honestly little league football kept me focus on school even if it wasn’t as important at home it was mandatory to play football and PAL had great coaches in Detroit that help shape me into a man prepared for life being good at football and sports in general kept a light around me all thru my childhood that kept me being celebrated so if I didn’t get it at home they made sure I got it from them, they are true unsung hero’s . The WestSide Cubs in Detroit 4400 Boston to be exact, along with the late great Keleci Hill rest in peace to a legend who made sure his football kids were well equipped all the time.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The passion I put behind my music and films means more to me then any achievement or monetary gain. Don’t get me wrong this product gone sale but the reality I put into the music and the films is what separates me from the pack and creates a unique design to how my content is viewed.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel at peace the most when I’m doing activities with my two sons King (7 y/o) and Maxx (14 y/o) . King still has that imagination and is full of play so he’ll roll wit me when I say let’s go , he don’t care where he rolling wit his dad, Maxx gone ask where we going , but he’s at that age where what he wants to go factors into where your actually going.
