Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with JASHAR of Plymouth

We recently had the chance to connect with JASHAR and have shared our conversation below.

JASHAR, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Very very interesting question. I’m definitely walking a path now but if you had asked me two years ago I was more in the range of wandering. I have a much better idea of who I wanna be and where I wanna go

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello readers! My name is JASHAR. I’m a music artist from the metro Detroit area and I’ve been doing music for a while now. I am a producer, songwriter, entertainer, graphic designer and an artist of the drawing and creating characters variety. Me and my partner, Mr Tunez, have created the beginnings of a record label called Avid Dreams with 3 signees. We just did our first annual concert this past weekend. Man I’ve been really busy lately

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I honestly thought I was gonna be a comic book artist. I got back into drawing a couple years ago and I still love it but with everything happening with music I can’t see myself being an actual comic book artist anymore. However I can see myself creating stories and maybe eventually putting together an animated show with characters I’ve drawn and created

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’ve almost given up a million times while pursuing music. There’s been times I’ve secretly given up and then weirdly enough opportunities keep opening up so I take it as a sign to keep going. Opportunities like getting interviewed when I’ve decided I don’t wanna do this anymore. I feel like it’s god telling me I’m not done yet and to keep pushing a little longer to find the diamonds on the other side of the mining tunnel. You know which meme I’m talkin about? Lol

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Oh no not at all. Public me is very outgoing and extroverted i.e being an artist on stage. The real me likes to just chill at home and watching movies or draw on a Friday or Saturday night

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
No I’m not tap dancing to work at all lol I don’t do art or music for a living right now otherwise I would! I’ve hit super high highs and career low lows. Excited to the point of tap dancing though? Probably the most recently I’ve felt that way was this past weekend for sure! I mean people were singing songs I had written back at me on stage. Wonderful feeling!
