Eden, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m proud of my sobriety. I am about to graduate a 90 day program.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m from Traverse City, Michigan. I make music under the name EDBD and I just released a song with Dem Atlas on YouTube. I’m on SoundCloud as well.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to think I was a burden to the people around me and that I wouldn’t make it past age 30. I have developed a sense of worth and I no longer resent myself and poison my body.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I lost custody of my daughter and that changed my whole life. She is my world and I’ve been working for years trying to get to a place of stability so that I can be a good mother.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my mother very much. She raised 5 children pretty much single-handedly and she has never gave up on me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in nature and especially when I’m with my daughter. I was born to be a mother and it is my greatest joy.
