We recently had the chance to connect with Jugashree Bisoi and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Jugashree, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I begin each day with virtual yoga alongside my school friends, followed by simply enjoying each other’s company. One of my favorite rituals is having a cup of tea in my backyard while watching the birds—it always brings me peace and joy. I try to find happiness in everything I do throughout the day, whether big or small. And in the summer evenings, I love taking a nightly walk in the cool breeze, soaking in the warmth of the season.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’ve been a professional artist for over 20 years. With a BFA and MFA in Fine Arts, my journey has always been about creating beauty and emotional expression through art. My work reached a new level when I moved to North America, where I began collaborating with galleries and art organizations, connecting with collectors, and mentoring other artists through workshops.
Now, I’m bringing that same passion into a new venture — LunarisLuxe Candles. Each candle is designed as more than just light; it’s an artistic expression that blends elegance, fragrance, and soulful creativity.
LunarisLuxe was born in a quiet, unexpected moment — inside my garage, where creativity often takes shape. For years, I watched my daughter’s simple love for candles. She would bring them home, light one during her study sessions, and let its gentle glow and fragrance guide her focus. That little ritual sparked something in me.
As a professional artist, design and creativity have always been part of my life. I see beauty in details, patterns, and the way light transforms a space. One evening, sitting in my garage, I began experimenting with wax, wicks, and scents — imagining candles not just as objects, but as pieces of art, energy, and intention.
What began as a spark of curiosity quickly grew into a passion. I realized candles could be more than décor — they could be companions for study, meditation, celebration, and self-care. Each one could tell a story, carry meaning, and bring light into someone’s life.
That’s how LunarisLuxe was born: a blend of artistry, intention, and love — inspired by my daughter, fueled by creativity, and designed for those who believe a candle can transform not just a room, but a moment.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
It was during my student years, while studying art history, that I first discovered the magic of Leonardo da Vinci. His Mona Lisa captivated me—the mystery in her smile, the grace in every brushstroke. I remember feeling an almost spiritual connection, as if her gaze spoke directly to my artistic soul. From that moment, I dreamed of standing before her one day.
After 25 years, that dream came true when I visited the Louvre Museum in Paris. As I stood there, face to face with the Mona Lisa, I felt an overwhelming sense of power—not from achievement, but from witnessing how patience, faith, and passion can turn a quiet dream into reality. It reminded me that art has the power not only to inspire, but to guide us back to ourselves.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell her: Trust your light. Even when things feel uncertain, your creativity and compassion will guide you to where you’re meant to be. Don’t rush to fit in—your uniqueness is your greatest strength. Keep painting, keep dreaming, and believe that every moment, even the quiet ones, is shaping the beautiful story you’re meant to live.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—and no. The public version of me reflects the same heart and creativity that guide my private life, but it’s a more polished expression. What people see through my art, candles, and words is truly me, yet it’s also curated through light, beauty, and intention.
The real me is quieter—someone who finds joy in simple routines, who paints late at night, listens to music while cooking, and cherishes family conversations over tea. Both versions are connected. The public one shares what the inner one creates.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
Peace visits me in the moments when I release all expectations and simply allow life to flow. Sometimes it’s while cooking in a lively kitchen, the aroma of spices mingling with the sound of Hindi ghazals, or when I’m creating something new and original from the heart.
I feel most at ease when I know I’ve given my best to every part of my life—that quiet satisfaction that allows true rest to follow.
Often, peace hides in the simplest moments: walking with my husband and daughter along a leafy trail, listening to the soft rhythm of nature, or sharing laughter and stories with my sisters over a morning cup of tea in the backyard.
For me, peace isn’t just calmness—it’s a sense of alignment, of being on the right path. Whether I’m walking in nature, listening to Indian music, spending time with loved ones, or visiting a temple, I find that gentle, grounding stillness within.
