Inspiring Conversations with Tricia Jamerson of Altitude 257

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Jamerson.

Hi Tricia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been passionate about helping people grow and reach their potential. My background is in business, project management, and organizational strategy, where I’ve spent years leading large-scale initiatives, culture programs, and process improvement efforts in corporate America.

At the same time, I’ve built businesses, written books, led communities, and developed programs focused on personal and professional growth. Those experiences showed me that real success happens when mindset, strategy, and execution work together.

Today, I’m the founder of Altitude 257, where I help individuals and organizations stop drifting, start climbing, and raise the standard through consulting, speaking, writing, and educational programs. My mission is simple: help people build lives, careers, and organizations with greater purpose, clarity, and impact.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has included plenty of setbacks, pivots, and lessons learned. One of my biggest challenges was balancing a demanding corporate career, raising a family, and building a business at the same time. There were seasons when progress felt slower than I wanted, and moments when self-doubt crept in.

The pandemic also forced me to pause and rethink some of my plans, which was frustrating at the time but ultimately helped me gain clarity about the direction I wanted to go. Looking back, those challenges taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying focused on the bigger vision. Every obstacle helped shape the work I do today and reinforced my belief that growth rarely happens in a straight line.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Altitude 257 is a strategic and educational consulting company that helps people and organizations stop drifting, start climbing, and raise the standard.

We specialize in culture, leadership, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness for companies, while helping individuals gain clarity, improve execution, and pursue their goals with purpose. Through consulting, workshops, speaking engagements, books, and digital learning experiences, our focus is always the same: turning ideas into action.

What sets us apart is our belief that success requires more than motivation. We combine mindset, strategy, and execution to create lasting results.

What I’m most proud of is the impact our work has on helping people and organizations realize what’s possible when they commit to growth, ownership, and raising the standard.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
As someone who was born and raised in Detroit, what I love most is the grit and resilience of the people. Detroit has a unique spirit—you learn how to work hard, adapt, and keep going no matter what. The city has an incredible culture, rich history, amazing food, and a strong sense of community that you carry with you wherever you go.

What I’d like to see more of is continued investment across all neighborhoods, especially when it comes to opportunities for our youth. Detroit has made tremendous progress, but many young people still need greater access to safe spaces, mentorship, enrichment programs, and activities that help them explore their talents and potential. I’d love to see the city’s growth create even more opportunities for the next generation to thrive.
