Inspiring Conversations with The Onit Ink

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Onit Ink. Them and their team share their story with us below:

It started in the summer of 2020 when five friends, who love to dream, create, and build, got together and reimagined Onit Ink. Beginning as Onit Digital Graphics Imprinting by Shelly Stokes in 1999, this already successful custom t-shirt and design company had been uprooted by the events brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. This was an opportunity to make the best out of what 2020 handed us all. And so they got to work imagining what could be if they put their talents together and made something new. They worked hard, used their years of business, organization, and design skills, and created something fresh. The new Unit Ink was launched and offers one-of-a-kind designs for the retail and wholesale customers on super soft, high-quality apparel, while still servicing the needs of customers looking for custom apparel. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing new is struggle-free and perfectly smooth. There are always areas where everyone is working to learn how each other works and learning how to work together. There is figuring out how to set up the website the way you want, based on how you believe will work best for those using it. In the end, though, I believe we would all say that things have gone, overall, smoother and less bumpy than Michigan’s roads. 

We’ve been impressed with Onit Ink, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are truly a small business. How small? We work out of the garage that is attached to the home of two of our partners. Our focus is primarily on apparel across three legs; retail, wholesale, and custom. When a customer gets ahold of us, we do everything we can to ensure that the products you order are of the highest quality at the lowest cost. With everything, our team personally handles every step of the process to ensure it is easy and affordable.
