Inspiring Conversations with Tay Ford of Manifest Thirty-One

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tay Ford.

Hi Tay, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Tay Ford.

I am devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend; I am also a Licensed Therapist in the Metro Detroit area.

I’ve had the amazing opportunity to pursue my education and receive my bachelor’s in communication, master’s in philanthropy, counseling, and certification in diversity, equity, and Inclusion. Even with these experiences and titles, I am also a person who wore many masks which included shame, guilt, and doubt in a lack of self-worth and purpose.

I was inspired to create Manifest Thirty-One through my own struggles with depression, grief, and loss. As I internally worked on myself, I wanted to help others find hope to move forward and believe that we are not defined by our mistakes.

Through the journey of reflecting, processing, and healing with God a never-ending journey. It was placed on my heart to create a platform that encourages others to know that working on your mental health and well-being is nothing to be ashamed of. M31 is a safe place that empowers you to make the choice to heal, so you can manifest and sustain those aspirations for your life and generations that follow.

Manifest Thirty-One stands on the guiding principles of clarity and confidence to connect people to resources and information that is in our communities. It can become overwhelming researching quality mental health and wellness information that best fit your needs. M31 fosters a collective platform that raises awareness and advocacy to support in breaking down the stigma of mental health and wellness. In addition, we host testimonial interviews for individuals to share their stories to encourage others to know they are not alone.

One’s story is not over when facing life obstacles and challenges. We all have the ability to grow and endure through our manifestation journey. I no longer wear masks to hide who I am because I’ve learned all of me is the BEST of me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
COVID -19 and the pandemic taught me some very important lessons; the most vital of which is that time is not retroactive. In creating Manifest Thirty-one, I encountered many rewards but also the most challenging ordeals of my life. Staying focus on my purpose has remained constant throughout the years and has helped me to evolve into the person I am today.

My parents both were diagnosed with chronic diseases and terminal illnesses prior to their passing in December of 2020 and February of 2021 (6 weeks apart). Manifest Thirty-One launched in November of 2020. These challenging moments made me rethink about the importance of time. I questioned, “What is a way we could cherish our time despite not being able to control it?” This is when I decided to continue Manifest Thirty-One and share people’s stories and provide community resources. Cherishing our time is by not running away from our truths but choosing to use our voices.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Manifest Thirty-One, LLC mission is to connect people with mental health and wellness professionals and resources needed while promoting awareness through advocacy and education.
